I turn to Asuna in an instant. "I-It's not what it looks like!" I nervously blurt out in the form of a panicked yell while blushing profoundly and idiotically.

Asuna says nothing, yet in her eyes all I see is sadness. Alice bows for her miss-behavior and walks out of the room.

Alice, you're the one who started this! I'm one who was victimized and the one that is about to get their ass kicked by a world of Pain...come back!

I walk over to Asuna but she steps a few feet back as if she was frightened of me.

I notice this.

'A-Asuna?"

"..."

I watch as tears fall from Asuna's eyes, while still stepping closer and reaching out to comfort her.

'W-what's wrong Asuna?" I inch closer, voicing out my concern.

She puts down a tray of tea she had brought upstairs for me by my bedside table and then looks any direction but my direction.

My initial thoughts at the time were to thank her for bringing the tea but then I remember what she walked in on.

I don't get an answer, instead, Asuna does a runner while crying, slamming the door shut to my face.

I follow her, running, I have to explain to her the misunderstanding and that nothing happened between Alice and I nor nothing ever would happen.

As I pace down the stairs, Asuna stops at my front door. My mother notices this from our open living room and walks up to Asuna.

I watch, my heart aching, as Asuna does her best to hide her tears.

I was now standing on the last few steps of stairs, leaning on the rails with my teeth clenched, my direction facing Asuna.

I knew why she was crying. What killed me, even more, was the fact that I'm the reason she was crying and that I made her cry. Me, her boyfriend, her best friend, her lover, her partner in crime, her in-game husband, her hero, her protector, her soulmate, her everything...was the one who made her cry.

My mother realizes Asuna was crying the second she saw her and hands her tissues. "Asuna dear! What's the matter?"

Asuna does not reply, my mother holds her in a tight embrace as an aid of comfort.

My little sister turns to me with a confused look from the living room, then offers Asuna to sit beside her upon the sofa.
