- Personality - Sponge is fluent in English, Russian and sarcasm (in no particular order). He has a wide knack for other languages as well, but only realises which languages as he is exposed to them, since his memories of his life prior to the Maze are missing. Sponge is quite fit and active (though one could hardly tell by his lanky, boyish frame), and he likes for things to be in order. He enjoys running, helping people, eating, clean spaces, staying up late, drawing, learning new things, and plotting his next prank. He can be quite short-tempered and picks fights easily, though he rarely wins them - he uses his pranks to get his revenge.
Sponge isn't the most talkative when it comes to people he doesn't know, but once he's comfortable around someone, he shows his true nature; he's a sarcastic, down-to-earth kind of guy, and a loyal friend to keep. Secretly, Sponge is hopelessly romantic - the kind who, in his past life, would have enjoyed evening dinners, concerts, and riding out to the edge of the city to sit on the hood of a car with someone and watch the stars.

- Weaknesses - 1. His temper, when people mock or belittle him, can be quite short. 2. Perfectionist tendencies: he hates filth and will freak out in unsanitary surroundings. 3. Cockroaches. It's a fear. 4. He is not very strong physically, though he is stronger than he looks. 5. Cooking or anything to do with fire. 6. Selfless: when it comes to those he cares about, he would put himself in harm's way for them without a second thought.

He got his name from the Originals, who always saw him cleaning, and some of them have this inside joke that he's a 'sponge' for being so dependent on Apollo - those are the people he usually gets into fights with. If anyone asks, though, he would say that he got his name for his ability to retain knowledge.
