Natural Hair Rant

So I work in retail . One day last week an older woman had the audacity to ask me "is that your hair or is that a piece on your head". It was an older black woman with short natural hair. I told her, "Yes, it's mine". She had the audacity to say, " Well I mean even if you bought it it's still yours."

It took all I could not to go off. Why is it 2019, and it's STILL hard for people to realize black women can have long healthy hair, just like every other race ?! And to be scrutinized by a black woman, and questioned like I'm lying about what's growing from my scalp! Another black woman, who knows the struggles we go through simply for wearing our natural texture. She also made comments like, " it doesn't look that nappy either", and "Do you comb it"? Like are you serious ?!
She was a rude customer in general , but her constant focus on my hair was rude, and it made me uncomfortable. One day I hope that EVERY race will accept that our black queens can have long, flourishing, healthy, natural hair.
