It's been a few weeks since the news of my grandparents death and right now me, Daniel, and Rae are driving down to Florida for the funeral

We have to drive cause I'm scared that a plane will hurt the baby.

I'm still very upset about everything and all i want to do is sleep and cry but Daniel won't let me.

He's constantly telling me jokes to make me laugh and they're so stupid that I just have to laugh

I really love that boy

"Mommy" Rae says from the back

And Rae makes me forget about everything too. When she calls me mommy instead of Kayleigh it makes me happy

Normally the kids don't like their step parents but it doesn't seem like that with Rae

"Yeah" i respond turning around

"I love you"

"Aw I love you too." I reach my hand back to hold hers and she kisses it

"Your hand is so soft" she laughs causing me to laugh

"Thank you"

"Oh Daddy I almost forgot to ask you"

"What"

"When can I get a phone. I'm almost 10 and a lot of my friends have one. If I get one I can text all of them"

"Not right now. How about when you're 12"

"But that's so far away"

"You'll be starting your first year in middle school"

"Fine. But I mean all I would do on my phone is text my friends and you and Kayleigh"

"Okay I'll make a deal. If you get all A's this year I'll get you one. Deal?"

"Deal"

"Okay perfect. Now what do you guys want for lunch"

We just arrived in Florida after a really tiring and long car ride and we're staying in a hotel

I would stay in one of my cousins houses but it would make me very sad

They understood and even payed for a really good hotel room which me and Daniel could've done but I'll take it

We get to the hotel and get our room

"Woah it's huge!" Rae says excitedly

She runs over to the single bed and jumps on it

"Omg Daddy, Mommy we all get to sleep together" she gasps which makes me and Daniel laugh

"Okay Rae now stop jumping you're going to get hurt"

"But daddy it's so fun"

"Rae!"

"Fine fine" she jumps off the bed and almost crashes to the ground but I quickly catch her

"See"

"Whatever" she gets out of my arms and goes to the bathroom

"One day that kid will learn I'm always right" Daniel laughs

"Oh Dani IM always right not you"
