"how long have these headaches been going on" my doctor asks me

it's been a few weeks since i started feeling sick and Daniel has finally convinced me to go to the doctors

i know i said if i had sex with him i'd go but when he made the appointment before i could get in the car i had a panic attack about going

i had flashbacks of my parents death and it traumatized me

he barely got me in today but he threatened that he wouldn't kiss me for a week if i didn't

and well here i am

"it's been a few weeks and they won't go away. even when i take headache pain medication it still is present. and it's hard to focus to like i'll be doing something with my son and i'll have to lay down cause the head pain is too much"

"okay well we're going to take a scan of your brain to see what's going on"

"you can't"

"i'm sorry what"

"you can't take a scan of my brain it's not going to find anything"

"why do you think that"

"they didn't find anything for my mom until three days before when it was too late"

"well i'm sure that was a while ago. we have better technology"

"still i already know it's going to be for nothing"

"can we at least just check to make sure. we want to catch anything before it's too late."

"but what if there's nothing there and i still die"

"it's not possible for that to happen. i promise you it will find what is wrong. how old were you when your mom died?"

"16"

"at 16 you were most likely not ready to learn about what was wrong with your mom. i strongly believe that they didn't tell you everything that was happening because of how young you were. so please just let us look. if we don't find anything we'll get another test for you. and if we do well we'll cross that bridge when we get there. so please"

"fine. i'll do it."

"thank you. well we'll go set up the room you can stay here while we go" they leave the room and i turn to daniel

"i'm really scared"

"i know you are but don't worry. i'm sure you are going to be okay"

"but what if i'm not"

"then we'll have to deal with whatever is wrong. but no matter what i'll be here for you. but i'm sure there's nothing wrong"

"okay if you say so"

"Mrs. Seavey we're gonna bring you now"

"okay"

"and Mr. Seavey if you would like to come with you can"

"babe do you want me to?" daniel asks me

"yes can you please "

"sure." he smiles and we leave the room
