Epilogue

Several months had passed since Avis had visited Tyrrell at Etta's Diner. Nearly a year. He had moved back in, but they were careful with each other. After all, who is jolly and bright with someone who left them even after being forgiven? Nobody. Avis's life was filled with happiness, though, for the most part.

She got to watch her little son grow up with a father. That made her happy. One day, after she had put Phoenix to bed, she went to her bathroom to get ready to "hit the sack" as her mom liked to call it. Somehow, Tyrrell was there, holding her left hand gently in his right. "Are you OK?" he asked gently.

Avis turned slowly towards him, frowning slightly. "I'm fine. Why?" Tyrrell tried to hide a smirk. Failed. Miserably. "Can't I ask how you're feeling without it being a thing?" he asked innocently. Avis sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes, content, and didn't answer. She just stood there, with her long - lost husband by her side, wondering what the future would hold.

The End
