C H A P T E R S I X

*|| Kaine's POV ||*

It was only a matter of time before Kyoya found me again. It doesn't matter. I'm really tired.

"I didn't care about looks before." I say without turning to him. "Being blind made it extremely easy not to. Now, being able to see made me realize, I worry a lot more than when I was blind." I face him, "Sometimes... I wish I was blind again. Silly isn't it?"

"How did you gain your sight?" He ignores what I said."I don't mean to ignore your statement but I've been wondering this for a while now."

I hum before turning to face the window again. It's a valid question.

"Because the only medical company who have FDA approval to do the procedure is impossible to contact or even locate. And that company only revealed their existence only five years ago. Unless you happen to know-" I turn back to him, smiling, and it hit him," You know who runs the Villazaez Company?"

Not quite.

"I own it." I clarify."My father's name is Kohima but my mother's maiden name was Villazaez."

He just stares at me in disbelief. He doesn't move and I can barely see him breathing.

I look past him to see all my guests gone but my estranged friends. They gather around a table, mumbling and taking not-so-subtle glances towards us. Mori is no where in sight. I wonder why?

Focusing back at Kyoya, his expression has changed. It's cold and... angry? I can't really tell. Next thing I know, he gets a hold of my wrist before pulling me towards the group.

"Kyoya? What's going on?" Tamaki asks. He simply ignores him, grabs the nearest chair and aggressively sits me down facing everyone.

"Okay Kaine, you need to explain yourself." Kyoya mandates. Everyone's confused looks turn to me.

I sigh, already bored and not wanting to deal with this right now.

"Talk." He demands," One year. We went through one year with knowing little about you and after a few measly notes, you leave... for seven years, I might add."

Is it me or does he sound desperate?

"Well let the after party begin." Hikaru mumbles to his brother.

"Before we start this, we need to have all of us here. Where's Mori sempai?" Haruhi asks. Everyone scans the room but Kyoya. He simply stares at me intently.

"He doesn't need to be here." I tell them. All of them turn to me curiously.

"What do you mean by that Kaine?" Tamaki asks me.

"He already knows what's been going on these past few years." I answer. I wait for their next question.

"What do you mean by that?" Honey is the one to ask.

"Like did you talk to him earlier-"

"Or what?" Kaoru finishes Hikaru's question.

"What I mean is that he's known all along. Where I've been and how I've been doing. I kept in contact with him and he visited me often. Our families are indebted to each other."I answer and the all gasp, dramatically, in shock but Kyoya.

"So, he knows the guy you married??" Haruhi asks. She really wants to know who it is.

"Wait!" Tamaki turns to Haruhi and then me." You're married?!"

I show them the ring and they flip out again.

"This is too much

"This is too much." Tamaki moans. Hikaru and Kaoru get a hold of him before he could hit the ground.

"Who is it Kai-Chan?" Honey asks.

"Mori." I answer without skipping a beat. Hikaru and Kaoru couldn't help but drop Tamaki. All eyes are now wide, including Kyoya.

"You're married to Mori?!!!?!?!?" They all shout.

"When?"Tamaki breaths.

"Two weeks ago." Kyoya answers for me. Stone cold. I can't help but find that insanely attractive, despite the current circumstances.

"Wait..." Honey grabs everyone's attention," it can't be the same wedding I attended, is it?"

Crap. Was he there?

"What do you mean Honey sempai?" Kaoru asks.

"We can talk about wedding details later." Kyoya interrupts." Right now what matters is that Kaine is not just Kaine Kohima but Kaine Kohima- Villazaez."

And another line of gasps are heard.

"Damn... you're just full of surprises aren't you Kaine?" Hikaru couldn't help but stifle a laugh.

"I like to entertain." I say to lighten the mood.

"My mom ran the company and she and my dad married for business purposes but, fortunately, they fell in love in the process." I smile a bit before explaining any further," Anyway, my dad had a lot of security advantages and my mom wanted that for her business: if the business was anonymous, no one could buy us out or cause any rivalry because she just wanted to focus on the medicine than the corporate drama and.... having a blind little girl to take care of, she wanted to to ensure her work was for not all for naught."

I play with the ring on my hand, taking a moment so I wouldn't cry in front of them. I don't want my mascara to run, after all.

"But then she got sick... because of some experiment in attempt to find a way to give me my sight. Then my dad got a job back in Japan and none of us wanted to see her like that so I went with him." I look back up at them, specifically Kyoya to see if I could convey some understanding from him." And I decided to continue my mom's work and belief. I left because my dad didn't have the mindset to run the company so I took the initiative to do so... and he still isn't. And with all my schoolwork and running a business, I thought it would be best to keep everything to myself. To minimize my distractions."

"Distractions?" Hikaru scoffs."that's heartfelt."

"Think what you may but I'm running a company. A highly advanced company making medical history that's saving lives and at the age of 25, no less. None of this is personal."

"What about Mori? Surely there's some reason why you're married to him? I mean is it also business or do actually love him?" Kaoru asks.

"I do love him but as a friend. He's my best friend." I tell them.

"You married him because of security reasons." Kyoya adds. He takes off his glasses before rubbing the bridge of his nose. He's tired. So am I.

He then grabs his items and starts walking out.

"Kyoya?" Tamaki calls out his name but he doesn't stop. He just disappears into the distance. I turn to everyone and them at me.

"So... would you like to stay at my place?"

*|| Kyoya's POV ||*

This is more information than what I expected. All the secrets. The inheritance. The surprises. She's too much and yet... more intriguing in every possible way. The mind of that girl is exhausting in the best possible way.  But... she's married. To Mori, no less. All this is a mess. A mess that she knitted together.

I arrive back to my hotel room to find Mori sitting on the edge of my bed. I can't help but feel the distain seeping through my body.

"We need to talk." He says.

Despite the day I've had, I grab a chair, loosen my tie and wait to hear what he has to say.

"I'm listening."
