YOU'RE STUCK IN MY HEAD

Matteus pulled into the driveway.
"Well, we're here." He stated.
"I-thank you for today." I smiled sincerely at him.
"Yeah, of course." He assured.
"Well, bye Matteus." I said and opened the door.
"See ya, around ally." He said as I closed the car door and made my way to my front door.
I opened the door and closed it.
I wanted to forget today, and erase everything.
I leaned against the front door and slid down to sit on the ground.
Tears ran down my face, along with mascara I slathered on.
"Jesus, I'm a mess." I cried out, alone.
It was the end of the day, the latest of the night.
Where your friends aren't there to comfort you.
It's the worst time to be broken.
After a few minutes, my phone buzzed.

CALL
ME: Hello..?
AUDREY: why were you kissing Matteus?
ME: why do you care? It's not a big deal, plus I don't have feelings for Matteus.
AUDREY: but you went to dinner with him AND kissed him.
ME: yeah, HE offered dinner and I was hungry. Plus, the kissing thing was just me being me and confused.
AUDREY: oh-
ME: do you like him?
AUDREY: who?
ME: Dante, does he make you happy?
AUDREY: yeah, I think so.
To hear the happiness in her voice broke me and scarred me.
To hear that he made her happy, and to know I wasn't her.
ME: do you- do you make him happy?
AUDREY: I don't kno- why are you asking me this?
ME: I don't know, bye.
I hung up and threw my phone somewhere.
I needed to sleep, and to forget.
But I found myself typing in his number, and being even more sad when he didn't answer.
So I didn't call again, instead I put my phone back away and walked up the stairs.
It was quiet and too silent.
I changed into boxer shorts and a black shirt.
While washing my face I heard a constant buzzing.
I ran down my stairs and quickly picked up my phone.

DANTE: hey
ME: hey
DANTE: why'd you call me?
ME: I need to talk to you, but like in person.
DANTE: when? Tomorrow?
ME: no, I'll send you my address.
I quickly hung up and felt my adrenaline rush through me.
I wasn't thinking straight and I immediately regretted it.
I looked like a mess, and my clothes were a different level of embarrassing.
After a couple minutes of panicking and sitting on my bed, I heard a soft knock on my room window.
"Who the fuck is throwing roc- oh, Dante." I slid open my window.
"Dumbass, no one's home and you could use the front door." I pointed to the front of my house.
"Oh shit sorry." He called out and walked towards the front.
Then, I heard the soft knock again.
