I walked to school for the millionth time and got there in enough time to see Ashley and Beverly heading to the entrance. "Hey, wait up." I said and saw them quicken their pace. I tapped Ashley's shoulder and she turned around. "What do you want?" Ashley rudely asked. "Why the fuck are you so pissed?" I asked and she scoffed. Beverly rolled her eyes at me and walked away. Ashley followed her and I felt confused. I felt a hand on my shoulder, "Hey al, ready to hang out today?" Dante asked. "I, uh yeah." I said trying to gather my thoughts and be positive at the same time. "Hey babes." Julia said and walked up to us both, alongside Michael and Riley. "Matteo wants to hang out with us." Julia said as she looked at her phone. I didn't know who Matteo really was, only that he was in one of my study halls. Dante nodded at Julia's statement. "Matteus wants to come too." Everyone's eyes went up to Dante. "Sure." He said in a slightly irritated tone. "Are you jealous?" I whispered in a joking way. "No, why would I be? Me and you aren't even dating." He said and it came out a little harsher than he intended to. "Oh." Everyone kept walking to the sophomore hallway. I felt like shit, but technically it was true. I stopped talking to Dante and continued talking to Julia. Until, we finally made it to our lockers and separated. I opened my locker and got all the stuff I needed. My day was already getting worse and now I had to watch Audrey and Dante sit next to each other. We weren't dating so I shouldn't have been jealous. Still, it hurt to know that I spilled my heart out to him and we're still at square one. I headed to class and set my stuff down on my table. Julia came up to my desk, "Hey sweetheart." She joked and I laughed. "Hello, honey." I responded, earning a laugh from her. "So, ready for tonight?" She mentioned, like it was some great big festival. "Yeah." I said and she nodded in agreement. The bell rang, interrupting our short conversation. "See you later, juli." I said and she waved going back to her desk.
