'When there were celebrities in the Audience at Vegas, usually we'd write down their names and hand them to Elvis so he could acknowledge them from the stage. But he didn't know who half of them were.
He'd do a false exit and come offstage, andhe'd say to either Joe or me "Who's out there?" One night, Elvis said, "There's a name here, Arnold Palmer. What does he do?"
I said, "He's a golfer." He's said, "How do I introduce him?" I said, "call him the babe Ruth of golf."
Elvis went back out there and said, "I'd like to introduce you to the babe Ruth of baseball, Arnold Palmer."
