Normal P.O.V

Sting and Rogue had been fighting the dragons for what felt like hours, and the twins were loosing hope with each hit that seemed to not effect their dragons.

They each had one, but as per usual, the boys teamed up to take both down at once. The atmosphere was seeming more and more grim, each boy struggling to continue their fight.

They were dragon slayers for crying out loud yet they could barely hold their own against a dragon.

Sting wanted nothing more than to drop to the floor and sleep, but he had to keep going.

Lucy was behind  the wall, meaning that Sting wasn't finished his job of protecting her.

Sting had been successful in protecting Lucy, she had not been hit once.

"Sting, I really don't know how much longer I can do this." Rogue huffed, feeling weaker with each passing second.

"I know, me too. It's like our magic isn't even affecting them! I mean we're dragon slayers for crying out loud. We were literally born for this!" He growled, his anger nearly taking over.

The dragon that was battling Sting sent another burst of magic rattling the ground. Sting had barely managed to dodge the attack, his shoulder being grazed by the attack.

"What are we gonna do?"

Sting whispered, his face falling at the realization that they won't make it out alive.

He looked around, the city was in shambles.

Hours ago they were competing in the last round of the games and now here they were, fighting to even stay alive.

Tears filled his eyes.

He couldn't believe that the world around him was ending.

Lucy suddenly woke up in a panic, trying to figure out where she was. She saw that she was surrounded by rubble, seeing only a small brick wall next to her. She immediately assumed the worst, her stomach filling with dread.

"Lucy!" She heard a familiar voice, before she could register was what happening, Lucy was tackled to the ground by a flaying blue cat who currently had tears streaming down his face.

"You're awake!" He cried, gaining the attention of the dragon slayers.

"Happy what's going on?" Lucy confusedly asks, feeling a sense of relief.

"Happy! Get her out of here! She's not safe!" Sting seethed before hitting the dragon with another attack, he had to keep fighting until his last breath.

Happy nodded while reluctantly taking Lucy away, he could feel her tensing in his hold.

Lucy's heart wrenched as she saw Sting and Rogue fighting so hard, they looked miserable and Lucy's heart couldn't handle seeing them in such a way.

"Good luck guys!" Lucy shouted before Happy took her out of ear shot.

Knowing Lucy was behind him gave him a sense of pride. He had Lucy Heartfilia standing behind him.

Happy had put Lucy on the ground once she was safe, and she tried to think of ways to get out of this mess, but nothing came to her mind.

They had successfully closed the gate, so that wasn't the issue. At least no more dragons had come through. But Lucy didn't know how to stop everything else, she hoped that the dragons would disappear once the gate was closed.

But, that clearly wasn't the case.

"I wonder if Arcadios or the princess knows how to stop this? After all, they pushed so hard for the doors to be opened in the first place." She mumbled, pacing back and fourth.

Everything was one big jumble and Lucy didn't know how to fix it.

She started to walk back to the gate, hoping that someone there would have any sort of clue as to how to close the gate.

Something in the rubble managed to catch Lucy's attention.

There was a tassel hanging out form a piece of rock. Lucy was quick in her action and tore the rock off, hoping that she wouldn't be finding a person underneath it.

She sighed in relief as it was a black journal with a bunch of notes in it. She skimmed it hoping for something to help. Her eyes widened and her body went still.

She found out how to fix this.
