T H E. P R I S O N

William POV

"I need you to stay by Rebecca's side for now while I attend to the problem down at the prison. Tell me once Rebecca wakes up, alright?"

She replied. "Okay, brother."

"Make sure you do not leave her side and wander off to your mate."

She laughed. "Yes, Brother."

When I opened the door, I look at Rebecca one last time before I masked on my cold look and head out down to see what happened.

I stormed my way down to the prison using my wolf speed. I shouted to the prison guard and said, " WHAT HAPPENED!"

The guard explained. "The rogue that we just brought in, is dead. He suddenly collapsed in front of us after he ate"

I rushed over to the room that he was in and found out that he was on the floor. Ryan was beside me observing for anything that may be the reason behind his sudden death. He grabbed the bowl of soup and asked. "I think there is something wrong with the food? I think someone has poisoned him."

I felt my anger rising inside me and I shouted at the guard."WHO WAS THE COOKER?"

The guard shuddered in fear, "I think it was our newest cooker. She just arrived not long ago."

I ordered. "Bring her immediately to me!"

Ryan motioned to one of the guards and he quickly gets the cooker here. I was sitting on the chair waiting for the cooker till I heard a weeping sound echoing near the prison entrance.

"I didn't do anything wrong. Why are you taking me?" The cook pleaded.

The guard brought her in front of me and she was kneeling in front of me.

"Did you cook the food to the prisoners?" I pondered.

She looks down at the floor and said. " Yes..."

"The food that you cook has killed that rogue and because of you, we have lost our lead that may be important to us." I shouted.

She cries, not believing what I say. She shook her head. "It could not have been me. I always try the food before I give it to the prison guard to serve them."

I say. "Then explain why did this happened or else I'm killing you!"

"I don't know, Alpha William."

"You better tell me something or I fucking swear to god I'm going to kill you."

"Wait, Alpha William! I remember something. The guard that I passed the food to was acting weird. He keeps on asking me to hurry up to serve the food so that he could deliver it to the prisoners, " she told me.

"Do you remember how he looks like?" I asked.

"I cannot really see his face clearly because he was wearing a mask and a hat to cover up his face. When I asked him why he needs the mask on, he says that he was sick and did not want to pass the germs to the people around him." She said.

"Okay, thank you for your cooperation. You can head back to the kitchen."

With that, she bows her head in respect and went out of my sight.

I turned to Ryan. "Look through the surveillance camera and see whether you can get anything."

Ryan nods his head in response. "Okay, I will go now and check."

I went back to the scene and checked if there is anything that Ryan has left out when checking. I checked the rogue's clothing but found nothing, but it seemed like he was holding something as he was clenching his fists.

I walked to his hand and unclenched his fists and found out that there was a piece of note lying there.

I took the note from his hand, and it states the following:

"I'm watching you very closely. I will get her very soon."

I mind linked everyone. "I want everyone to be on high alert. There seems to be someone watching our movement. All guards are to report to their duty at all times and if anyone notices any suspicious person, please tell me immediately. Everyone is to stay inside of the house and if there is any emergency that you need to head out, please report to my Beta."

All of them responded to me." Yes, Alpha William."

I thought to myself thinking that Rebecca might be in danger. I did not sleep for the whole day as I came up with plans to protect my sweet little angel from the bad ones who want her.

But for now, I will focus entirely on Rebecca safety and find out who is the rat in our pack because no way someone from the outside could have enter our pack.

Rose POV

I watch as Rebecca's condition gets better as she no longer has cold sweat which was a good sign.

I mind linked my mate, Drake. "Come over to Rebecca's room. I have something to tell you."

His mind links me. "Okay."

Within seconds he appears in front of me. "What happened to Rebecca?"

I grabbed his head and rest my head on his chest. "It's all because of me that she is like that."

I felt tears rolling down my cheek and Drake wiped my tears. "This is not your fault. She has never blame you for anything that has happened to both of you. She is glad to have you as her best friend, baby. Best friends are always there for one another, okay."

"But if I have not run away far from William, this will not have happened to her." My heart aches when I told him.

Drake ran his hand on my hair. "It is not entirely your fault too. Blake is responsible for the reason why she left her pack so don't blame yourself. What you can do now for her is to stay by her side and help her along with her condition."

I hugged him tightly, grateful that he is here for me now. I am so thankful to Moon Goddess for having Drake be my mate because he is the second-best thing that has happened to my life after Rebecca.

Unknown POV

I said to him on the phone. "You did a really good job. I will not do any harm to your sister as long as you listen to me. One mistake, I will kill your sister mercilessly, do you understand?"

"Yes, Sir."

I hang up the phone and say to my right man, "Have you found anything to surprise her?"

"Yes, Master."

I smile evilly. "Explain to me."
