Alice is a police dispatcher for a quiet city. Not much goes on where she lives. Most of her shifts are during the night, the graveyard shift. With this job, you have to deal with pressure and have a lot of patience. She receives a few weird calls b...
Jin and I just parked the car in the school parking lot. We already see familiar faces.
I start to feel nostalgic and had a weird feeling in my gut. It was a bitter sweet moment. Knowing I made great friends here and I'm engaged to the man I went to high school with.
Yet, I think of him.
I've been thinking of him a lot lately.
Of how he was different from everyone else. How no one wanted to be friends with him. Yet I was attracted to him. I wanted to love him. I wanted to be that person who would make him happy.
But then I think about how he did that to me. How disgusting he was. How could a sweet boy be that sick minded?
"Alice?"
I start to get angry and breath in through my nose deeply. I didn't even notice Jin calling out my name.
"Alice?"
I slowly break my train of thought and looked towards Jin.
"Yes babe?"
He places his right hand on my thigh and gives me a smile.
"Let's go in and enjoy the night."

We got into the school gymnasium. The gym was dark, but the ceiling lights lit up the place just right. Streamers and balloons were placed nicely. Tables with white cloth were all over the gym. A banner that said 'Welcome Class of 2081' hovered over us.
As Jin and I walked towards the front, we could hear our old classmates talk.
"Oh my god, they're still together! That's so sweet."
"Jin still looks good and so does Alice."
Jin starts to chuckle and wraps one of his arms around my waist firmly.
"Yes you do baby." He kisses on top of my head as we reach towards the front.
As we waited for everyone to get situated, our old principal walks up to the middle of the stage.
She grabs the mic and starts to talk into it.
"Testing, 1, 2,3. Alright everyone, I see that most of you guys are here by the stage. I just want to say, welcome back class of 2081!"
