Melanie giggled as she skipped past the clone troopers into Obi-Wan's makeshift cell, which was more of an old waiting than a jail cell. "Hi Uncle Obi," She smiled at him as he turned his gaze from the window to the little girl who continued to  skip towards him.

Despite the situation, the jedi couldn't help but to smile as he lifted Melanie onto the bed he sat upon. "Who said you could call me Uncle Obi, huh?" He taunted her, gently tickling her sides with his gloves fingers.

After a few moments of her hysterical laughter filling the room, Obi-Wan stopped the attack on her sides with a soft chuckle of his own. "Now tell me Little One, just how did you get down here?"

Melanie sat on her knees and faced him, totally getting as serious as a three year old could. "Well, after Mommy had the baby," She began, looking up at him with nothing but pure innocence from what Obi-Wan could gage. "Uncle Rex carried me into Mommy's recovery room and laid me down on a comfy bench with Daddy's cloak as a blanket. When he and Daddy were talking, I sneaked out of Mommy's room really quiet and ran down here to see you!"

Obi-Wan's lips tugged up into a soft smirk while one of his brows raised, "Did the guards just let you in?"

Melanie shook her head, "No silly! Uncle Obi, I used the force and tricked them like Daddy does to Threepio when he talks to much." Pure amusement stretched across his face as he pressed further.

"Would you show me?"

She was happy to oblige, standing up on the hospital bed next to his side. With her middle, index and thumb fingers outstretched, she waved them in front of his face.

"You will give me a hug and kiss..."

Though it didn't work on him, Obi-Wan played along and mindless repeated her command. "I will give you a hug and kiss..." As she giggled in excitement, thinking it had actually worked on him, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead.

"Well my dear," He looked at her as she sat in his lap. "You would make a great jedi."

"Or not," A new voice hissed from the doorway. Both Melanie and Obi-Wan turn their attention to the new visitor, which happened to be the new father himself.

"Daddy!" Melanie slipped out of Obi-Wan's embrace and off of his lap. As she ran towards the door, Anakin took a knee and caught her easily. As he wrapped her up in his arms, he glared over her shoulder at Obi-Wan who still had a soft smile on his face.

"Don't you ever run off like that again," He tore his gaze away from his former master, his blue eyes closing as he hugged Melanie close. "What were you thinking?"

Melanie pulled back as far as she could from his arms, which really wasn't far at all. "I had to make sure Uncle Obi was okay," She confessed with a smile, unknowing to the anger he was suppressing within.

"I used the force too! I tricked the guards into letting me in, Daddy! Isn't that great?"

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, standing up with his little angel secure against his hip. "Idiots," He muttered under his breath. "You, Princess, are grounded; you are not to leave my side unless you are with Uncle Rex, do you understand?"

The smile she beamed with instantly dropped from both her eyes and lips as she looked down in shame. "Yes Daddy," She barely spoke above a whisper.

Anakin kissed her temple, holding one of her little hands with his free hand. "You just scared me, that's all Baby; Daddy's not mad at you, you know that right?"

She just nodded before resting her face in the crook of his neck and wrapping her arms around him as best as she could. Just as he turned to leave, Obi-Wan called out to his former apprentice. "Anakin, wait..."

"What?" Anakin glared at him once again, his jaw clenched shut.

Kenobi slipped off the bed and knelt down to the ground. He picked up a small slipper before getting back on his feet and walking over to the door. He held it out to Anakin, "I believe this is her shoe."

Anakin's glare softened as he took his daughter's shoe, "Thank you."

"How is the child? Padme as well?"

As much as Anakin didn't want to have a conversation with him, he felt compelled to act civil towards Obi-Wan for Melanie's sake, not to mention how Obi-Wan was acting towards him.

"Padme is asleep right now, they had to put her into a medically induced coma so her body could heal properly. The doctor said the stress she's been under lately has really taken a toll on her," He sighed, running a hand through his hair before laying back on Melanie.

"As for the child, we were surprised by the news that my wife had been carrying twins this whole time. She gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Leia and our handsome son, Luke. They're in perfect health and are both currently resting upstairs with Padme, whom we have to get back to."

As he turned away, Obi-Wan called out to him just as the guards pushed him back into his room. "Congratulations Anakin, may the Force be with you and your family."

Before Anakin could respond, Obi-Wan's door shut and the lift opened up for Melanie and himself to get on.

"Daddy?"

"Yes Princess?"

"I'm still your favorite little girl, right?"

Anakin couldn't help but laugh at her adorableness. "I don't know, Leia happens to be as cute as a button," He teased her, dropping part of the bomb on her. "She might just beat you in the favorite game..."

"Mommy had a little girl?!" She squealed in excitement.

"Then again, Luke might beat both of you girls all by himself," He continued, grinning at her beaming little self.

"Mommy had two babies?!"

He chuckled at her again, she's going to be the death of me... "Yes she did, do you want to meet them?"

She nodded enthusiastically as the lift doors opened to reveal their floor.

"Let's go then, shall we?"
