Clem woke up early in the morning while Gabe and AJ were still asleep.
After a few moments someone knocked on the door.
"Yeah? " Clem asked quietly, trying not to wake up Gabe and AJ
The door opened and Violet walked inside.
"Hey Clem... Oh, should I come back later? " Violet asked looking at Gabe and AJ
"Nah, I don't think they'll wake up. So, what do you want? " Clem asked
"Since we didn't get enough fishes yesterday, I wanted to ask you to go hunting with Louis. He could need some help, considering he gets distracted very easily" Violet chuckled
"Yeah, sure. I could do that for you. I mean, we need food to survive so it's very important" Clem said
"No, you're not going anywhere Clem" Gabe said, who just woke up and listened to their conversation
"Oh hey baby. Why would I not go hunting? " Clem asked
"Please don't go. I don't want to lose you because I wasn't there to protect you. I'll go instead" Gabe said sitting up in bed
"Gabe, you can't. You got shot in the shoulder. It would be too dangerous for you to go" Clem said
"But what if something happens to you. I can't risk losing you. I could not live with myself, knowing that it was my fault, that you'd have died out there" Gabe said
"And so would I" Clem said
"Clem, please let me go." Gabe said looking deeply in her eyes
Clem sighed. "Okay... Fine. But please promise me, to be careful. And that you'll be back in 4 hours" Clem said
Gabe then put one hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Clem. We'll be fine." Gabe said looking her in the eyes.
"Okay okay.... " Clem said
"That's fine, I guess. Louis is waiting at the front gate. You should hurry up a bit. He'll get distracted by something again. So, I'll go now and try to focus him on the mission" Violet said before leaving the room.
"Are you really sure, you want to go? " Clem asked looking down
Gabe then put one hand on her cheek as she looked up"Yes, Clem. Like I said before, if you would get hurt or even bit by a muerto, I could never forgive myself" Gabe said
"Yeah I know but... It just hurts knowing, that you're gonna leave the school without me. You're leaving with Louis, a boy you don't even really know. " Clem said
"What are you talking about? Louis and I know how to survive out there... Well at least I know it. I'm not sure about him" Gabe said chuckling.
"But one thing is clear. Nothing will happen to us. We three were on the road for more than two years and nothing happened. Trust me, we'll be back before you can even say my name" Gabe said smiling
"Okay... I think I need to distract myself while you're gone... But I do have a big surprise for when you're back" Clem said smiling"
"Oh really? What is it? " Gabe asked
"If I would tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore" Clem said chuckling
"Okay then I'm excited" Gabe said smiling
"But believe me, you'll love it" Clem said
"It'll be something I do with you, so I just have to love it" Gabe said lovingly before kissing her cheek
"We should get up now" Clem said before they both stood up.
"Should we wake AJ up? " Clem asked looking at AJ
"Nah let him sleep for a bit. I will probably be back, before he even wakes up" Gabe said as he held out his hand for Clem to hold
Clem grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers while smiling"Okay. Then let's go" Clem said as they both left the room and walked to the front gate.
Louis was already waiting for them and Violet was talking to him. He also had a chair leg with nails in it in his hand
"Ready to go? " Louis asked
"Yeah, just give us a minute" Gabe said before turning around to Clem
"I'll be back in no time, baby" Gabe said stroking her cheek
"I really hope so... I'll probably just sit around the whole time and will stare at the gate and wait for you to come back" Clem said
"You don't have to do that. How about you get a couple hours sleep while I'm gone? You wouldn't have to think about me the whole time, if you do that" Gabe said
"Baby, I don't think I can sleep with the thought of you out there alone without me" Clem said
"Then try to distract yourself somehow. You don't have to worry about me. " Gabe said
"Okay, I'll try to do that... " Clem said. "But before you go, I need something from you" Clem said smirking
"And what is-" Gabe said before he got interrupted by Clem, because she pulled him into a loving kiss
Gabe kissed her back passionately as he put his hands on her waist
After one minute of kissing Louis walked over to them.
"Uhm... Lovebirds? Can we go now? " Louis asked chuckling
Gabe pulled away from the kiss and looked lovingly in her eyes.
Clem looked back just as lovingly.
"Yeah, I guess we can go now" Gabe said smiling without taking his eyes off her
Gabe then let go of her and kissed her cheek. "See you later, baby" Gabe said
"Yeah... See you later" Clem said smiling back before he turned around and walked to the gate.
"Don't worry, Clem. I'll bring him back in one piece" Louis said before walking over to the gate as well.
"You got everything you need? " Louis asked
"I think so. I have my knife. Isn't that enough? " Gabe asked
"Well... Yeah. But you'll need a bow to shoot something like a deer" Louis said as he took a bow that was leaning against the wall and handed it to Gabe.
Gabe took it and looked at his chair leg with a confused look.
"Oh, this is chairles. It's a chair leg with some nails in it. It's pretty useful if you ask me" Louis said smiling at chairles.
"If you say so" Gabe said chuckling before they both walked out of the school to go hunting
