"So what's the plan, my man." Zev asks, sliding into the booth.

Sipping my shake, I shrug. "There is no plan."

Two pairs of confused eyes stare back at me while Gabe seems mildly impressed.

"What do you mean?" James questions incredulously.

"I mean, I'm not going to ask Scarlett out any time soon." I explain slowly.

"So, you're, like, over it already?" Zev wonders and for the first time in a while I want to punch him.

"No, I'm not over her." I state, I don't think that's possible at this point. "I just don't plan on verbally asking her out."

There's no rush, we haven't even known each other two months. Obviously, if I still need to go someone else for advice, there's more to focus on than dating.

"So no more flirting?" James muses.

A snort escapes, "Gentlemen, you never stop pursuing your girl." At this point it's natural, I just don't expect a reaction.

"So now she's your girl?" James asks, amusement evident in his voice.

Wait, no. "That was just a piece of advice, God knows you idiots could use all the help you can get."

Zev nods his head, "I've decided if I ever get a girlfriend, I'll just follow Sage's example because that boy knows how to work a relationship."

"That's what I do now." James admits.

I can't help but agree, while he isn't Ella's boyfriend he might as well be. He's a prime example of always trying. Maybe I should follow James lead and take notes, but wouldn't it be weird since I'm going after his sister?

I don't know how any of this works when it comes to technicalities.

"While Sage may be a whipped, but helpful, guy, that's beside the point. Ashton, I believe you basically called her your girl." Gabe pushes.

Shoving a fry in my mouth, I try to work my way out of this. "I don't know what you mean. Scarlett is not my anything besides my friend." For now, at least.

I'm met with a bunch of smug smirks, but no one pushes me for now.

Checking the time, I get up. "Sorry, boys, I've got someone to see and she's a lot better company than you fools."

Grabbing my coat, I throw away my trash.

"Goodbye lover boy, have fun on your date." Gabe calls, blowing me a kiss.

Lover who, please don't be talking to me. I simply flip them off on my walk out, it's not a date.

"Ronnie, let's go!" I holler upstairs, annoyed I couldn't just get her by the door.

I didn't want my parents knowing I'm home. We haven't exactly been on speaking terms these last few days. Or any peaceful terms. It's not really the fact that mom doesn't like Scarlett that bothers me. I mean, it sucks, but with time she will, hopefully, learn how awesome she is. It's the fact that she hid how she truly felt that hurt.
