Isabella was a natural! Liam thought in awe. He stood in a dark corner watching her as she unknowingly drew a crowd. Now that his declaration to the reporters got tongues wagging, everyone in that party knew what she was; a must-have! Liam bit down his tongue to stop himself from cursing. He wanted to dive in there with the sharks and save her but he knew that if she wanted to be as great in business as her father, she had to go through this. So far, she was doing well...very well actually. She caught the attention of the men he would have liked to dine with on the same platter.

Her soft laughter fluttered through the air and Liam couldn't stop staring at her. She made eye contact with everyone; whether it was the intimidating stare of the infamous Sir Connor Thorntrump or the leery look of Brian Finn. She smiled politely and listened intesively before she answered. She argued her cases with facts and figures and when the debate got a little heated, she joked and backed off even though everyone around her knew she was right. She had the same tatics as her father and Liam couldn't help but see the older man standing in the crowd coaching his daughter.

Thomas Stanford was the most pantient man Liam had ever come across. He had never seen Thomas rush or get upset for a late delivery or a disappointing business deal. Thomas always looked forward to the next day like it was his last.

A new day for a businessman is like an empty canvas for an artist, there are unlimited possibilities! He always said at the end of the day. Liam thought him very unprofessional and bound to fail in the future but what surprised him was that as the days passed, Thomas Stanford's name made it to the exclusive A-class lists of the business world. Liam couldn't help but admire the man. He began to learn from him and soon enough the two partners were unstoppable in their game. They were ruthless yet charming. It was this streak that earned Liam a name with the ladies.

Every rich woman wanted to know the merciless Liam Vergil more intimately. They wanted to feel his brutal power and his black velvet touch first hand and what started out as an innocent night with a millionaire widow turned out to be a journey through lust and power in the business world.

Liam twirled the gold liquid in his glass and turned to the group of ladies eyeing him from the side. If he was up to it, he would have gone home one or two or even three of those women but he knew he couldn't lie to himself any longer. He didn't want to share his bed with just anyone. There was just one woman he wanted seductively sprawled over his silk sheets calling to him.

"Scouting for a new PA, Liam?" a thick voice drawled on his side.

Liam didn't need to turn to know who it was. "Alex." he drained his glass and exchanged it with a full one from the passing waiter. If he wanted to make it through that night without an incident, he needed to numb his senses, especially the ones working between his legs. "I thought you were out of town."

Alexander Maguire nodded lightly as his pale blue eyes sparkled with mystery and his mouth turned up on one corner. " I was but the moment I heard about your latest acheivement, I couldn't help but rush over here to give you support."

Liam grunted. "You expect me to fall on my face while I make my speech, don't you?"

"That too and telling by the way you are downing that brandy like water, I think I'll have my moment of fun." He grinned while wiggling his eyebrows at him.

Liam wanted to hate the man but he found that he couldn't. He and Alex were rivals in the business world and like him, Alex used big dinners like these to scout for outstanding new talents good for business. They had what you would call a 'healthy rivalry'. They were not enemies and yet they were not  friends either.

"You should know me by now, Alex, since you keep tabs on everyone threatening to steal your throne. Alcohol has no effect on me." Liam's eyes sparkled with malice.
