I spend the rest of the day showering, sleeping, filming a sit down explanation of my experience at the Witch's Forest with Sam and Colby for the day their video comes out, and filling Diana in on it all as I do. Together Diana and I go to the gym, take a spin class and yoga class and get dinner out. Tender Greens again, it has become one of Diana's and my favourite places in LA over the past times we've come here. It's been a hectic couple of days, and I'm ready to take tomorrow off and do absolutely nothing.

I wake up to the smell of bacon frying in the kitchen, and head in pursuit of it an a cup of coffee. Diana cooks breakfast, looks like avocado toast, scrambled eggs and bacon today. I hug her on my way past, offering
"Coffee?"
She rolls her eyes, and I chuckle. She never had liked coffee, but I suggest she start if we're living here now. I pour myself a cup from my pot machine which made it automatically at nine o'clock, sat there awaiting me. It's as I sip it, I look across the island and see a small box sat there awaiting me. I eye it curiously
"That your's Di?"
She doesn't even have to turn from the stove to know what I'm talking about
"Found it left outside this morning, note has your name on it."
I walk around the island to reach it, opening the box before the enveloped letter. The box isn't monogrammed or branded, it's silver, with intricate patterns of flowers and botanicals carved around it. Antique looking, reminds me of something my mum has that used to belong to my great grandmother. The lid opens upwards, and inside on a tiny velvet cushion sits a gold necklace. Diana pauses playing up the food to see what I pull out. She tilts her head at the gold Virgin Mary necklace dangling from my fingertips.
"Don't you already have one of those you've had for years?"
I shake my head
"Not anymore."
Clipping the necklace on, I set down the jewellery box it came in and reach for the letter now.

Rey,
Hope this one brings better things into your life than the last one did. I found it at that spot you liked along Venice last time you were here. Seems like it was meant to be ;)
Yours always,
C.

Colby. My hand reaches up to touch my new pendant. It already feels better than the other one did. I reach for my phone, texting him instantly

Your address??

I don't check my phone again until after I've finished breakfast, but find a response from him when I finally do. I tell him

Be there in an hour or so <3

:)

I shower again, and get ready for my day. I know I was planning on doing nothing, but if he happy to do nothing with Colby. Besides, I'd want to thank him in person. I Uber to his apartment complex, all the way downtown from my West Hollywood home. I call him when I get there
"Buzz me up."
"No magic words today? Okay."
I scoff, hanging up. I make my way inside and upstairs to his apartment, barely knocking before he swings the door open.
"Hey! Cute necklace."
He indicates to my neck. My lips spread into a smile, as I step in- in to his apartment and his arms. My arms around his waist as I tilt my head back to kiss him. He hums against my lips, pulling back and telling me
"You're very welcome."
I giggle, walking in further and looking around. He's not too messy. Then again, he wasn't last time either, so I don't know what I was expecting this time around. He drops down onto the couch, and watches me explore the place. I point up the metal spiral stairs
"What's up there?"
"Another couch."
"Practical."
I join him on the couch, telling him
"You didn't have to get me a necklace, Col."
He pulls my legs over his lap, and I rest my arm around his shoulders, hand running through the back of his hair. He shrugs
"If it makes any difference, I've had it for about four years."
I raise an eyebrow
"You've just had that laying around for four years?"
He shrugs
"Yeah. I was meant to give it to you at the airport in a grand romantic gesture before you left but that didn't go the way I thought it would."
I feel my face heart up, embarrassed at that memory. I look away, down at his rug. He reaches up, his fingers turning my face to look back at him
"I'm not mad about it, Rey. Don't worry."
So he was indifferent about how things left off?
"I mean," he proceeds "I was down. I missed you!"
I laugh lightly, telling him
"I'm sorry about that, Colby. It was shitty of me."
He smiles over my face
"You're back now."
I hum, agreeing
"And I won't be skipping off like last time."
He kisses my temple
"Good," clearing his throat, he asks "so, is there anyone I need to know about back home?"
I roll my eyes, scoffing
"You know there wasn't," he gives me a knowing look. So I explain "at least nobody notable. Nobody that lasted long."
His lips spread into a smile again
"Nobody could keep up with you?"
I admit
"I think it was more a case of me being too conceited."
He denies
"You couldn't be conceited if you tried. More of a case of being career-driven."
He might have a point there. I never put effort into a relationship before, I've always either grown out of them or left them behind while I tried to reach new heights in whatever it was I was doing. Uni, writing, YouTube. It got worse when I took off online. I think I started having some trust issues- mainly with guys my age back home. After a few experiences, hell even a few hours, it always became obvious they were using me somehow. I accepted this, and accepted just having flings. Then again, I think Colby had a lot to do with it. He set my standards higher than any guy could obtain, all in a single week I spent with him. Nobody had made me feel the way he did, he still does. Lit that fire in me, poured electricity through my veins. It's not like Colby gives me butterflies like I expected feeling so much for someone would feel like. Colby excites me, yet I'm comfortable with him. Never nervous or scared. I feel safe, and warm, and ready to take on anything. I decided to double check
"So, this necklace, you got it from that antique shop we found last time?"
He grins at the memory
"Uh-huh."
