We land back in LA two days later. And I say for the hundredth time as we walk back into his apartment
"I still can't believe that went so well."
He falls onto the couch next to me, commenting
"My gran full on believed we were engaged."
I laugh, kissing his jaw. I tell him
"I'm so glad, Colby."
"You were worried for nothing."
"I'm sorry I had to drag us back so fast."
He scoffs, sitting up with his arms around me
"No it's exciting! You start production tomorrow."
I shake my head
"I didn't have to force you to come with me though."
He kisses my shoulder and stands
"I want to be there."
"For the clout."
He winks
"Obviously."

Colby drives me to set early in the morning while I slowly wake up and sip an iced coffee in the passenger seat of my Camaro. I'm happy he'll be here with me today, happy that I have a person I know well to be my safety net. The fact he'll be around somewhere is reassuring. Parking and heading onto set, I am met by Jaxon
"Alaska darling!"
We kiss each others cheeks, both of them before he steps back, and turns to Colby
"I'll assume this is the boyfriend."
I nod
"He is indeed. Jaxon, Colby- Colby, Jaxon. Jaxon is casting director."
They shake hands, Colby professionally and personably greeting
"Great to meet you, man."
"You too, Colby."
He turns around, calling
"Donna," a girl with auburn hair tied in a ponytail, probably my age if not just older, turns. A clipboard in hand and earpiece on her head. Jaxon waves her over, introducing when she reaches us "This is Donna, your PA. Donna, meet Alaska Rain."
She smiles at me
"Hi!"
She's perky. Not that it's a bad thing. She's upbeat at least. I'm just a grouch any earlier than nine in the morning, and it's currently seven. Still, I don't want to already get the diva reputation, so I smile back
"Hey!"
Jaxon tells us
"Donna will show you to your trailer, and then bring you to set in about half an hour."
I hug him
"Thank Jaxon."
He smiles down at me, patting my back
"Break a leg, darling."
Walking off, Donna turns to us
"Follow me."
We do, and I turn to Colby, mouthing in shock
"I get a PA."
He opens his mouth excitedly. I laugh, slipping my hand into his as we follow my PA around set. We exit the studio, into a big outdoor parking lot with tents set up and many trailers parked in rows. She leads me directly to one with my name written in bold capital letters across the door
"Welcome to your temporary home!"
She exclaims, opening the door and standing aside to let us through. I was expecting a basic caravan, like the one my family had back home for a couple years there that I never went away in with them. No, this could be an apartment. Spacious and luxurious. Wooden floorboards, white leather couches and lazyboys, a glass coffee table, kitchenette, marble bar with white leather stools, a double bed towards the back and a full bathroom. I'm taken aback... what is the budget on this thing?
"Woah..."
I breath, eyes glancing around. Colby nods, agreeing with my statement
"Wow."
Donna giggles, stating
"I'll come get you for set in about twenty. You settle in."
I smile at her
"Thanks Donna."
Excusing herself, Colby ensures she's closed the door, looking over his shoulder. He grins, turning to me
"This is nuts."
I hum, nodding
"And I thought Netflix movies were low budget."
He chuckles, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me to him
"What's the first thing you want to do in your new trailer huh?"
I smirk, tilting my head back to connect our lips. I deepen the kiss, moving him backwards until we reach the couch, which i sit him on, and climb onto his lap. I move his hands from my thighs, holding them in my own as I break the kiss, telling him with our lips barely an inch apart
"I want to revise my lines."
He exhales heavily, dropping his head against my shoulder
"Why do you do this to me?"
I giggle, asking as I run my fingers through the back of his hair
"Read with me?"
He hums, raising his head to kiss my cheek.
"Of course."
Pecking his lips one last time, I get off his lap to go grab my script out of my bag. Returning and handing it to him
"Let's just go from the start and get through as much as we can."

Donna drives us in a golf cart to stage one, I didn't need to do hair and makeup today since we're only choreographing an escape sequence for the opening scene. So I only have to go in work out clothes. This movie, while based on Mortal Kombat, more focuses on Kitana and her story- since there was already a B-grade movie of Mortal Kombat made in the mid-nineties. Colby's amazing the whole day, hanging out and meeting everyone I'm working with. He's patient, and watches me whenever I'm learning something. He's supportive. And the fact he's here at all gives me so much more confidence. We get to leave at around eight, heading home via Taco Bell. I'm exhausted, and I can tell he is too, but he doesn't want to admit it. Getting home, he lets me shower first. But coming back out I find him drifting off on the couch. I sigh, crouching down beside him and kissing his cheek. He murmurs incoherently, And takes my hand on his arm. I tell him, even if he can't hear
"Thank you, Colby. I can't tell you how much you being there today meant to me."
He tells me, more awake than I expected him to be
"Just for the clout."
I giggle, standing and slapping at his arm
"Go shower, asshole."
