Chapter 18

After a 15 minutes toilet break, it was time for the award ceremony. All performers were invited on stage. Jisoo stood beside Jin Young at the second row. She looked around but couldn't find Jennie. Their principle gave a short and simple speech and then it's time to announce the winner. The mc cleared her throat and said:

"Now it's time to announce the winner this year"

"There's lots of splendid performance today but there's only one winner"

"After a heated discussions, the judges were finally able to select one winner and now the name is in my hands"

Jisoo's heart almost popped out from her chest. Jin Young grabbed her hands and gave her a smoothing smile.

The audience shouted the names they thought would win. Jisoo heard someone shouting their names, she heard Jennie's name too.

"And the winner is..."

The spotlight shot at Jisoo and Jin Young's side from behind. Jisoo was shocked by the light and couldn't barely open her eyes.

"Jennie Kim!"

The audience roared and cheered loudlier than ever, Jisoo felt her mind snapped and her heart skipped for a second.

She felt someone breaking through her and Jin Young's gripped, she turned her head and saw Jennie walking through them. Jennie wasn't looking at her, she just lowered her head and walked in front.

Jisoo was shocked. It's not because Jennie won or they lost, she just felt shocked. Her eyes watched as Jennie accepted the trophy from the principle and bowed at the audience.

Jennie took the trophy and bowed at the audience. She blinked away a tear as soon as she bowed. Planting a smile on her face, she got up and waved at the audience. Actually, she had been standing behind Jisoo the whole time. She almost laughed when she saw Jisoo looking around for her. Her heart cracked when she saw Jisoo accepting Jin Young's grip, but she smiled anyway.

They went back to their rooms to pack up everything. Jisoo apologised to Jin Young and said:

"I'm sorry"

Jin Young smiled and said:

"It's not your fault, we did our best"

"I know, I'm just really sorry" Jisoo said

"There's always next time" Jin Young said

Jisoo smiled and they went back packing. After a moment of silence, Jin Young said:

"Too bad I didn't get the chance of you owing me a favour"

"Yeah, what was it?" Jisoo asked

Jin Young chuckled and said:

"I'm not telling you"

"Hey!" Jisoo protested

She was about to keep asking when she was interrupted by a knock on the door, Jisoo shouted:

"Come in, it's not lock"

She turned her head and saw Jennie coming in. Jennie looked at Jisoo and said:

"Can I talk to you for a second"

Jin Young cleared his throat and said:

"Well I'm leaving"

Jisoo asked Jennie:

"Could you wait for a second?"

Jennie slightly nodded her head and went to sit on the couch. Jisoo walked to Jin Young and said:
