The worried look on my mother's face was so evident that she adjusted her voice and before I knew it, she was speaking to Dr. Abiodun.

"Sorry o doctor, I am her mother."
"Ah mama, I didn't know you were there with her. How are you?"
"I'm fine, and you?"
" Work is fine and I'm also in good health. And now that I know I have a stubborn sister, I pray I don't break down."

"I should be telling you that, myself. " I quickly added.

"Anyway mama, seeing she can be stubborn and agitated, please I beg you, make sure she gets enough rest." There was silence between me and my mother.

"Ah doctor I hope there's no serious issue, since you made mention of her condition."

"Mama, no. She had  an accident and was brought to the hospital. So we ran some tests and thank God there was no internal injury. Physically she's fine, no rather I should say, they are fine." My mother and  I stared at each other wondering what he meant by,  'they'.

"They? And who are they?" My mother asked.
"She and the baby."
"What?!" I shouted.
"Listen, I'll find time to send you the test report. Congratulations and please take care of yourself." He hung up.

"No it can't happen! Mother tell me this is not true?!"
"It's the doctor who said it, not me."
"He's a fraud, this is a joke, I cannot have it. I can't have this baby!"
"Tola what do you mean you can't have this baby?"
"After all I've gone through? In what world will it grow up? In a world where people fake their death and where people keep secrets? It can't."
"So because your husband did that for whatever reason he has not told you, does it mean everyone else is doing it?"

"Dad never told me he had a son until today. Tell me how am I going to bring up this child?"

"Tola, I no wan hear say anything happen to my first gran pikin o." It was evident she was happy. I was finally about to give her a grandchild. The only problem is, I had to tell Ola about it and I was worried about how he would take it. I got up and told my mother I was leaving.

"And where are you going?" Her face was radiant. I knew that whatever it was that made her smile, had taken away years of anger towards me. Perhaps the good news that her grandchild must have had this effect on her.

"I'm going to talk to someone."

"Shall I tell your father?" She asked. Walking towards the front door I instantly stopped and turned.

"No, he will know when the time comes."
"And when will that be?"
"Probably the length of time it took me to know I had a brother."

I left the house and got into my car on my  way to see Ola. I had to tell him a baby, our baby was on its way coming. But then suddenly the unexpected happened. I lost control of the steering, It must have been a flat tire.

The car swerved off the road and came to an abrupt stop. I hit my head on the steering wheel and was unconscious. I opened my eyes a few hours later only to find myself in a hospital. There was my father and mother staring down at me. I closed my eyes again only to open them again and ask in a faint voice,

"What happened?"
"We were told you had an accident." My mother had sat beside me and had placed her hand on my forehead.

"I hope you are alright?" She asked. I nodded.
"Don't worry my daughter, you will be fine, okay?" Hearing my father say that got me a little upset. I didn't show it and  just closed my eyes. But my mother it seemed noticed what was going on and asked my father a question.

"Papa Tola, abi ona dey quarrel?" My mother asked.
"My only daughter quarreling with me?" I turned and faced  the wall.

"Hmm dis one me I no go put mouth o."
"Why?"
"When ona dey sweet she dey do some kine connection dey give you."
"Were you there when she was doing the connection?"
