Been two weeks. Two weeks since ah was betrothed, an' Berk decided ta leave. We been packing and preparing ta go ta DunBroch. Hopefully, we can reclaim the throne. Ah know ah 'ave ta regain it now! An entire village's survival depends on it!
Mah betrothal to Hiccup has resulted in unexpected changes. Ah'm adressed as Chieftess now. Ah'm still gettin' used ta the title. Hiccup, despite needin' ta take care 'o his people, has made sure ta 'ave time wit' me.
He insists we eat together. Ah stay at Astrid's house along with Heather and the Wingmaidens but ah'm wit' 'im most 'o the time, except when ah sleep. He is a rather sweet man. Ah feel guilty ah convinced 'im to sacrifice his choice for marriage to save Berk. He is a dedicted betrothed, ah'll give 'im 'at!
Speaking of romance, Toothless 'n Whisp are gettin' closer these days. Every night they fly off (Hiccup actually made a self-steering tail for Toothless so he could!), and do a wild fury dance.
Poor Toothless didn't understand how to do it at first, so Hiccup tried to help. He made it more awkward!

Whisp was so shocked and unimpresssed she actually pawed Toothless' face!
Ah've gotten to know Hiccup's mum, Valka. She is very sweet and much more adventurous. Not like me mum. She gave Hiccup her betrothal necklace, that Hiccup's father once gave her. He gave it to me. Now it hangs over my heart, around my neck.
Hiccup once showed me his maps, one evening. He said before his Da died, Hiccup used ta travel and explore "The Great Beyond." He mapped and charted the places he went to.
Ah'm headin' ta the stables. Today we leave for DunBroch. Hiccup made me a white leather saddle for Whisp, trimmed with blue designs. Another sweet, thoughtful betrothal gift.
"Hello, Chieftess!"
"Morning, Chieftess Merida!"
Vikin's called as ah walked by. Ah nodded ta each one.
Ah enter ta see Whisp curled up in the straw.

"Hello, mah dear bonnie lassie!" Ah croon ta her. She coos back. Ah pull out mah saddle. "Today' the day, Whisp.
"Merida?" Hiccup's voice called from the entrance.
"Hiccup? Ah'm 'ere."
Hiccup walks up to me holding a fur-wrapped bundle.
"Hey...well, today we're going to your place and move to phase two..."
Ah nod.
"Well, I got you another gift." Hiccup holds out the parcel of fur.
"Oh, Hiccup! Ye didd't 'ave ta do 'at!"
Ah take et an' unwrap the furs. Inside is dragon-scale armor, like Hiccup's! Mine was made of lightfury scales! I feel a big grin etch onta mah face. Ah hug Hiccup.
"Ah love et, Hic!" Ah squeal. He stiffens in shock for a minute, then hugs me back.
"Ahem!" Gobber was at the doorway. "Berk's ready! All we're waitin' fer is our Chief an' Chieftess."
We nod and follow him out where everyone was waitin'
"Okay, this it! Say goodbye to Berk. On to New Berk!" Hiccup cried.
"On to New Berk! " everyone echoed.
We took off on our dragons. This is it! We're headed home. We're headed to DunBroch!
