(Hiccup's P.O.V.)

Toothless hadn't returned when I went to bed last night. And Merida reported, at breakfast, Whisp hadn't either. I was about to suggest we look for them when-

"HICCUP!" Astrid barges in the hall, despite the Clan Warriors' protests that she couldn't interrupt the royal family's breakfast.

"Astrid? What's wrong?"

Astrid looked troubled.

"All the dragons left last night! And scouts reported Grimmel's armada is approaching fast."

Merida stood up, her face red with anger. Elinor looked frightened. Mom left to check on Cloudjumper. She returned reporting Cloudjumper and the Triplets' Thunderdrums are missing too.

"There's no time ta lose!" Merida declares, pounding her fist on the table. "Are troops positioned ta meet the invaders?"

"Alvin and Dagur's fleets are already approaching for a naval assault." Astrid reported. "So is Lord McGuffin. Everyone else awaits orders."

Merida and I exchange a glance. "Tell Berk to fire up everything they got! Catapults, flamethrowers, ballistas!"

Merida speaks to her brothers. "Each o' ye instruct Clans Macintosh, Dingwall, and DunBroch ta prepare the horses! And git their swords, bows, an' other weapons. Journey ta the coast ta meet Grimmel's armada!"

"Let's suit up!" I say. Merida nods.

"Merida!" Elinor exclaims, looking scandalized. "Ye are a lady! Ye shouldn't be doin' battle!"

"Oi...Mum! Ah am the queen! Ah won't ask mah people ta fight fer me, if ah'm no' willin' ta fight fer them!"

My heart swelled at Merida's answer. Dad really would've loved her. We suit up with our dragon armour. And since we don't have dragons, I had my first horseback ride!

We arrive and it's chaos! Utter chaos!
