The Yule Ball was just about to begin. Mia was dressed in a simple, black dress but still managed to look divine with her brown locks curled delicately over her shoulders. Her and Dean looked wonderful and they stood together, the latter in crisp, black dress robes. The pair entered with Ginny and Neville into the beautifully decorated Great Hall. They watched with smiles in the direction of the champions (except for Cho and Cedric because they made both Mia and Ginny feel physically ill so therefore did the same to their dates) as they danced around. Mia caught Harry's eye as he focused on not stepping on Parvati's feet and gave him a reassuring smile...even though he was doing shit. But she would never tell him that. Mia's eyes drifted to the golden haired boy whose own eyes, surprisingly, weren't on the home-wrecking, hag he was dancing with. They were, in fact, searching around the room for, Mia suspected, a certain brunette with hazel eyes and a charming smile. Cedric couldn't seem to find Alfie because the eldest Black child was sprinting across the grounds, not even thinking about how he was going to find one girl amongst the blue-robed French but it seemed luck was on his side when he found her sat beside the Black Lake under the beech tree. Tillie's knees were drawn into her chest with her chin placed between them. Her blue eyes were watching the ripples of the lake and her lips drawn into a frown.

"TILLIE!" Alfie bellowed and he rushed towards her. The blonde jumped when Alfie shouted her name and her eyebrows furrowed as he doubled over next to her, utterly out of breath,

"I- whooo I'm tired- okay, I came to- ask you if- you-" Alfie ran a hand over his face as his sentence was interrupted by deep breaths,

"Breathe, Alfie." Tillie tried to hide her smile and Alfie lifted his eyes to send her a half smile before clearing his throat and trying again,

"Tillie, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the ball with me?" he asked with a charming grin and Tillie's jaw dropped. Mathilde was struck as he had asked without a hint of nervousness and stood looking rather confidently as he waited for his answer. Tillie closed her mouth and swallowed, wondering what spurred Alfie's sudden interest in her,

"Wha- it's tonight." Tillie whispered and Alfie shrugged,

"I only just figured out I fancy you."

"Lovely." Tillie muttered and Alfie took a seat beside her,

"But 've figured it out now so do you want to or am I going to go alone and look like a right cock?" Alfie asked with a smirk and Tillie shook her head with a laugh so her blonde locks fell over her flushed face,

"I'm sure you'd be able to find someone more than willing to go with you, Alfie." Tillie said rather bitterly as she faced the lake again, "It's you we're talking about...the most eligible bachelor in Hogwarts." she spoke quietly and more to herself than anything but Alfie's smirk widened,
