"And you remember everything I told you?"
"Yes, Mia. Don't insult the aftershave, don't get offended if he calls me a twat and go with any nickname that he may christen me with." Lia nodded her head with assurance and Mia sighed, wrapping her arm around her friend and leading her into the kitchen.
"Nate, this is my friend Lia. She's going to be staying with us for a while." Mia smiled at the curly haired man who was in the middle of an egg and soldiers duel with Alfie.
"TAKE THAT, YOU CRUMBY SON OF A-" Nate paused and turned to the door. His eyes immediately widened and stood up so quickly that he tripped on his chair leg and crawled the rest of the way to the two girls. Mia bit her cheek to hold back a laugh and Lia stared at the man as he came closer and closer on his hands and knees, his jaw dropped. "She's so...small." he slowly got to his feet and Lia offered him a shy smile, her cheeks going pink as she hugged herself nervously. Nate made an ungodly noise which, presumably, was due to Lia's cuteness, and gently cupped her cheeks. "I love her. I will protect her from this dirty, dirty world." he whispered and Lia's eyes shifted to the kitchen table where Alfie, Harry, James, Thalia, Eloise and Sirius all looked very unphased. "BERRY! BERRY, CAN WE KEEP HER?!" Nate yelled over his shoulder and Eloise smiled reassuringly at Lia before nodding her head,
"Sure we can, Natey." she spoke as though she was talking to a child and Nathan squealed in delight,
"You hungry, little one?" Nate asked and he held Lia's hand, leading her over to the table. Lia felt strangely comforted by the lanky irishman that was screeching orders at Sirius. There was something gentle about the way he said: "JOKER YOU INEPT BASTARD, MAKE THIS PRECIOUS QUEEN SOME BLOODY EGGS AND SOLDIERS AND FRUIT TEA BEFORE I SKIN YOU AND WEAR YOU AS A SHITTING COAT!"
"Oh, you don't have to-" Lia started but Nathan shushed her, pulling out a chair for her and gently running a hand over her hair,
"Sirius Orion Spack III answers to me. And I answer to you, okay?" he asked and Lia looked worriedly to Mia who had tears leaking out of her eyes as she leant on Alfie for support.
"O-Okay." she nodded her head and couldn't help but smile slightly as the kitchen filled with the sounds of the Black family's laughter.
"I've never seen Nate love anything as much as he loves bananas and pissing Sirius off...until now." James smirked at Lia and the girl flushed, feeling very pampered which she wasn't used to.
"Good morn, Black family! How wonderf- IT'S LIA!" Fred barrelled into the kitchen and, at his shout, George fell in after him, stumbling and having to grab onto Mia's shoulders so as not to fall.
