Mercy by Brett Young^

Georgia Kelly's POV

Hanging out with Stella made me realize how much fun she was. I haven't seen her in years and we were so close before we broke up.

She was such an awesome person to hang with.

"That was so much fun." She smiles as she sits on the couch. "Did you have fun?"

I nod as I sat down. "Yeah. Thanks."

"No problem." She smiles. "You missed me huh?"

I roll my eyes. "Let's not get carried away."

She laughs. "Come on, you can admit the truth." She pokes my side.

I look over at her then smile. "Ok. I missed you a little."

"I knew it!" She laughs. I laugh with her then after a moment, our laughter dies down. "I missed you too, Georgia."

Even though Stella was an ex, I still liked her as a friend. I couldn't help but feel happy when she's around.

Although she will never bring me the kind of happiness that Kenna brings. I couldn't help but smile as I thought about her.

She hasn't texted me back at all today and it made me worry.

"What are you thinking about?" Stella asks as she leans her head in her palm as her elbow is rested on the back of the couch.

I shrug. "Kenna."

"Who?" She gave me a confused look before realizing. "Oh, yeah." She looks somewhere. "Your girlfriend."

I watch her. "Have you found someone?"

She shook her head. "No. I don't really find anyone attractive." She stares at me. "Except for one person."

I gave her a confused look. "Who?"

She stares at me until she moves over close to me and grabs my hands. "Look, Georgia.." She sighs. "I know we ended badly, it being my fault, but I'm different now and I really miss you." She slightly smiles. "I can see the love you still have for me."

I looked at her. "I don't know what you're talking about."

She smiles. "You can't deny it, Georgia. I was the love of your life. Your first love. I saw the way you looked at me when you saw me. I know you still feel something."

I shook my head. "No. I don't, Stella."

"Georgia." She smiles as she cups my face. "What are you getting out of that Kenna girl? She's younger than you. Plus, she's your student." She watches me for a moment. "What are you really doing?"

I move her hand away from my face. "She's different, Stella. You don't know her."

"I know her enough." Her eyes travel down to my neck. "Nice necklace."

I smile as I grab it. "Kenna got it for me."

She nods then sighs. "Georgia. Be real with yourself."

"What are you-"

"You're kidding yourself, Georgia. This isn't you. You would never do this. You're confusing yourself by trying to force something that isn't there. Kenna is a fucking kid. You're a woman." She watches me. "Put it together."

I thought for a moment as she was kind of making sense.

No, she's not. She getting inside my head.
