Vic's POV:

It felt like my mind had left my body. I've heard about people seeing accidents happen in slow motion, but when I saw Kellin get hit by the car it happened so fast, but I registered every millisecond.

I saw the car. I saw dark, manic eyes of the driver that was somehow so familiar that my first instinct was to chase after the car. My need to get to Kellin overpowered the urge. It took me a while to realize exactly what happened. The shock and jolt of terror that surged through me caused a delay in my body.

Kellin was laying in the middle of the street. Onlookers, like myself, were frozen, some screaming at what they just witnessed. Kellin. He was on the street. He wasn't moving.

"No..." I whispered.

My body jumped into action as I ran over to him. My knees skid against the road as I rushed to his side. His body was bloody and torso already bruising.

"No, no, no. Kellin, no." I whispered over and over again.

I brushed his hair out of face. My hand was stained with thick, sticky blood. Cuts covered his face. Glass from the windshield surrounded him. He showed no signs of movement.

"Kellin...Kellin, wake up." I pleaded.

I lightly slapped the side of his face and shook him. I didn't know what to do. I looked up at the people cautiously watching on, just standing there uselessly.

"Call a fucking ambulance!" I shouted at them.

I looked back down at Kellin.

"Come on, Kellin. Don't do this to me. Kellin!" I screamed at him.

I shook his body, turning his face from side to side and finally there was a sign of life. He spluttered up blood, the bright red tinging his lips. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at me.

"Oh thank God." I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Vic..." He whispered.

"Shh, don't talk, okay? Don't talk. Just hang in there. An ambulance is coming." I told him.

I looked down at his body. It was mangled. Broken bones. I could practically feel it. His face though; it was calm, peaceful even. I caressed the side of his face and held back the tears that wanted to fall because I knew he was in a world of pain.

"I'm...I'm not..." He tried to speak but he could barely breathe. He was wheezing before he coughed up more blood.

"Don't speak, Kellin, please. Just...don't speak." I told him.

"I'm not gonna make it." He said.

"Shut up. Just, shut up. Don't talk like that. You're going to the hospital and you'll be fine." I told him. He had to be.

He smiled so gently and fondly. I had no idea how he could do that at a time like this. He weakly lifted his arm and I took his hand in mine.

"It's okay..." He croaked out.

I closed my eyes as tears poured from them. I didn't want to accept what he was saying but seeing him in the condition he was, laying there, the life leaving him. I was terrified that he was right. The thought of losing him was tearing me apart inside and I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"I remember." He said barely audibly. I opened my eyes and looked at him through watery eyes.

"What do you remember?" I asked.

"How much I love you." He said.

The words in other circumstances would have had me running in the opposite direction, but I wanted to hear them. I wanted and needed to hear them so bad, but the way he said it was like a goodbye.
