“Sarina You look beautiful”.

“Really Guys”

“Of course you do and you know it so stop fishing for compliments”. I look at my little sister rolling my eyes smiling.

It's Sarina's engagement today. The Zaman's are all waiting downstairs. My sister the little diva is keeping them waiting as she can't seem to stop staring at herself in the mirror.

She looks stunning. She is wearing a typical pashtun style salwar Qameez. A short knee length Qameez (top) and Pathani style Shalwar (trousers)... the Qameez is a creamy color with baby pink and silver beadwork and her shalwar is baby pink. Her dupatta (scarf) is a mixture of both colors and compliments her whole outfit.

Makeup is minimal..both of us have that in common..her eyes are lined and the mascara applied are doing wonders for her thick eyelashes. She has applied a shiny lip gloss to her pouty lush lips.  Her hair is parted down the middle and is wearing a nice silver tikka that matches her ear rings.

Standing up she has settled on a silver pair of high heels that give her the extra inches and she sure makes a beautiful site. My throat constricts. All of us are fighting back the tears.

“Now now..We are not going to be spoiling our makeup girls..it took me bloody ages doing you all.” Natasha sniffs at us.

The three of us are wearing baby pink Shalwar /Qameezes to complement Sarina’s outfit. They are  styled as sarina's too. Miss diva wanted everything to be perfect. Practically forcing everything upon us. We all gave in as it’s  her special day.

The girls are looking so fine. Especially Natasha. The colors seems to compliment her coffee colored skin and as she doesn't normally wear this kind of clothes she looks so stunning. She has even  decided to adorn the dupatta on her head . Her hair rolled into the same style as us.. a bun and a middle parting adorns our own silver tikkas and dangly matching earrings.

Sarina thinks its  her bloody wedding the way she has us all following her orders. I feel so overdressed but I gotta admit I like the reflection in the mirror. It's been ages since I have dolled up. Following my divorce from Qumar almost Three months ago I wasn't really much in the mood.

Sure it was a mutual decision and it was bound to happen but I couldn't forget Kadin and his heart wrenching tears. He just wouldn't let me go crying his heart out saying that he didn't want me to leave and that I’m not going to love him anymore. That was harder than actually separating from Qumar per se.

It took a lot of cuddling, kissing and consoling to finally get him to realise that I will always love him. He will always be my baby boy. I told him that no matter what he will always be a part of my life and he will always be welcomed wherever I will be.

He is currently sitting on the bed in a male version ,white shalwar and Kameez wearing a black velvet waistcoat playing on my phone. He looks so adorable, every once in a while looking up at me and sending me a beautiful smile.

The divorce though amicable was a difficult time. My last night with Qumar was special. We cuddled and watched all the soppy crap on netflix for one last time. He even let me paint his girl looking toenails. We spend the whole night reminiscing our four years of marriage.

I blink back my tears and force myself into the present.

“Baby girl! You okay? '' Natasha puts her arm around me giving me a side hug.

Sniffling I look up at her, the heels have added a few extra inches to her already amazonian height. I feel so tiny against her.

“Yes..just thinking about Q….’’.
