Tonight The Moon Weeps

Tonight the moon weeps, and the stars burn themselves on their own flames.

I can feel the planets cry, but what do you expect from beings submerged in darkness.

Tonight the galaxy folds in on itself only because it longs to be held.

And as I look up at the sky I realize that the universe is exploding in such glory we think it's fireworks.

Tonight, when I look into your eyes, I can only see how small I am,

how tiny the holes in my heart are compared to the craters of the moon,

how minuscule my burns are put against the consuming fire of the sun.

Tonight when I look at you I see the pain of the universe.
