Loki led Dahlia through the long hallways of the palace. His hand was still intertwined with hers, and neither of them had any plans on shying away from each other. Dahlia felt as if that was where her hand belonged, and Loki never wanted to let go

They could still hear the music from the first floor of the palace, and few people were mulling around on the higher floors.

The pair of friends had decided to read from the Light Elf book. Loki was leading her back to his chambers, where the book was waiting for them.

Frigga's words were still running through Loki's head. He wanted more than anything to indulge himself into this feeling, into her. But he knew that she was very dangerous; she had the power to break his very well guarded heart. She had a power of him like no other, and despite the fact that he simply adored her, he was quite nervous about it.

Dahlia was sitting on the bed when Loki brought the book over to her. "I have read this many times, Princess. I was very fascinated by Light Elves when I was young. It holds all the history of your kind."

The Princess took the book in her hands and lifted the cover. She ran a finger along the beautifully painted picture of her realm. She did miss it terribly.

"What are you thinking of?" Loki could easily look into her mind. Though he didn't want to.

"I miss them." Dahlia said. "My family, my people. Though I do not wish to go home."

"Why not?" Loki sat at the side of his bed.

Dahlia looked at him then. "I want to stay in Asgard, a little while longer."

"You may stay as long as you'd like."

"Will you help me write a letter to my family? To tell them?"

"Of course." Loki would do anything for her. With one look into her blue eyes, it was like he was under a spell.

"Thank you." Dahlia smiled at him. Then she turned to the book.

For the next hour, they spent their time peering into the book. Loki was reminded of his youth as he looked at the book with her; his memories of when he was a child and first discovered the book were resurfacing.

For Dahlia, it was a wonderful experience. She learned more of the history she had been told, and found herself fully submerged into the book. She hadn't noticed how close Loki was to her to look at the pages, nor how late it had grown.

She only noticed when her eyes began to burn and a yawn escaped her mouth. They had barely reached halfway through the book. "May we read the rest tomorrow?" She turned to Loki, then seeing how close they were. His face was only a few inches from hers.

Loki moved back. "Of course, we may read the rest tomorrow."

Dahlia looked at her friend, the same feeling still there from hours ago. Her thoughts of Loki as a lover began to run through her head and she felt overwhelmed by them.
