Chapter 4: Danger

Peter's Pov:

School finished and Lucas, Dustin and I rode our bikes to Mike's house. When we got there we went straight upstairs to Mike's room. We walked in and saw Eleven sitting on Mike's bed. "Are you out of your mind!" Lucas quietly yelled. "Just listen to me" Mike explained to Lucas. "You are out of your mind!" Lucas raised his voice a little. "She knows about Will" Mike told us. "What do you mean she knows about Will?" Dustin asked Mike. Mike grabbed the picture he had of the five of us at the science fair "She pointed at him, at his picture. She knew he was missing. I could tell." "You could tell?" Lucas asked Mike. "Just think about it. Do you really think it was a coincidence that we found her on Mirkwood, the same place where Will disappeared?" Mike explained. "That is weird" Dustin turned to Lucas. "And she said bad people were after her. I think maybe these bad people are the same ones that took Will. I think she knows what happened to him." Mike continued. "Then why doesn't she tell us" Lucas turned to Eleven and started walking towards her "Do you know where he is? Do you know where Will is?" He raised his voice scaring El. "Stop it, you're scaring her" I yelled trying not to raise my voice too much. "She should be scared" Lucas snapped back at me "If you know where he is tell us" He yelled at El again before turning back to Mike "This is nuts. We have to take her to your mom." "No! Eleven said telling any adult would put us in danger" Mike told us. "What kind of danger?" I asked. "Her name is Eleven?" Lucas asked right after me. "El for short" Mike answered Lucas's question. "Mike what kind of danger?" I asked again. "Danger Danger" He looked at me and made a finger gun. He pointed it to my forehead, then Dustin's and then Lucas's only to get slapped by Lucas. "No, no, no. We're going back to plan A. We're telling your mom" Lucas yelled at Mike. Lucas stormed towards the door and opened it only to get it slammed closed by something. He opened it again and the exact same thing happened. Then the door locked. We all looked over at El who had blood dripping down from her nose "No" was all she said.

We all sat quietly at the Wheelers dinner table. Mike, Mrs. Wheeler and Holly on one side. Dustin and Nancy on the ends. And Mr. Wheeler, Lucas and I on the other side. Lucas, Dustin, Mike and I weren't really eating as we had to give food to Eleven and I was just not hungry at all. Ever since Will had gone missing I barely ate anything. There was almost complete silence until Mrs. Wheeler spoke. "Something wrong with the meatloaf?" She asked looking at us who weren't eating. "Oh, no, I had two bologna sandwiches for lunch. I don't know why" Dustin answered. "Me too" Lucas spoke. "Me three" I added chuckling a little. "It's delicious, mommy" Nancy spoke but after that I didn't pay much attention to what was going on until I heard a little bit of yelling and I snapped back to listening to the conversation. El started to come down the stairs and Mrs. Wheeler almost looked back. Mike spit out his milk and Dustin banged his hands on the table. "Sorry. Spasm" He apologized

The four of us walked down the stairs to the basement with a tray of food for El in Mikes hands. "El?" Mike called out as we got to the bottom of the stairs. We saw her sitting in her fort playing with Mike's supercom. "No adults. Just us and some meatloaf" He added. Mike placed the tray of food in front of El. "Don't worry. They won't tell anyone about you" I added as I sat in front of her on the ground. "They promise. Right?" Mike turned around to look at Dustin and Lucas. "We never would have upset you if we knew you had superpowers" Dustin said before turned my head and I slapped his leg. "What Dustin was trying to say is that they were just scared.. Earlier. That's all" I turned back to face Eleven. "We just wanted to find our friend" Lucas chimed in. "Friend?" El looked up at Lucas. "Yeah, friend. Will?" Lucas answered El. "What is friend?" El asked. "Is she serious? Um.. A friend.." Lucas was soon interrupted by Mike "Is someone that you'd do anything for." "You lend them your cool stuff, like comic books and trading cards" Dustin added. "Especially when there's spit" Lucas continued. "Spit?" El questioned Lucas. "A spit swear means.." Lucas spit on his hand and I gagged when he grabbed my hand and shook it "You never break your word. It's a bond" He continued. Once he let go of my hand I grabbed hand sanitizer out of my fanny pack and put a huge amount on my hands. "That's super important because friends... They tell each other things. Things parents don't know" Mike explained to Eleven

I saw El stand up and sit at the table we play D&D. The others turned around and started walking towards El. "What's the weirdo doing?" Lucas asked following Mike and I. "El?" Mike asked and I sat down in one of the chairs. She held up Will's game piece and looked at it "Will." "Superpowers" Dustin said to have Lucas look at him and roll his eyes. Mike down in the chair next to El "Did you see him? On Mirkwood?" Mike asked her. "Do you know where he is?" I asked her quietly. She wiped the game pieces off the board and flipped it upside down. She put Wills game piece in the middle of the upside down board. "I don't understand" Mike furrowed his eyebrows a little. "Hiding" El looked at him. "Will is hiding?" I asked. She nodded. "From the bad men?" Mike asked and she shook her head. "Then from who?" Mike asked and she placed another piece on the board. It was the Demogorgon.
