Peter's Pov:

I woke up to Steve standing over my face in Will's bed after getting to Will's house very late last night. "Good morning, little bro" He whispered, trying not to wake Will up. I shot Steve a soft smile then got out of Will's bed and made Steve leave the room. I put on my Scoops Ahoy uniform which was on the floor of Will's room from a few days ago along with my fanny pack. Quickly, I cleaned up my clothes on Will's floor then brushed my teeth. After fixing my hair and giving Will a quick kiss on the cheek as he slept, I ran outside to see Steve waiting for me. "You ready to go?" Steve asked as he got in his car. I nodded then got in the passenger seat.

The car ride was silent until I spoke. "Do you know if dad and dad still fighting?" I asked Steve and he nodded a little. "Yeah. I stopped by last night to pick something up and they would not stop screaming at each other" Steve explained and I frowned. "Do you think they will break up?" I mumbled, a few tears forming in my eyes. "No... no... I don't think so" Steve answered, glancing at me a little. Steve pulled into the mall parking lot and looked at me. "Don't worry, okay? They'll figure themselves out and will stop fighting but for now, you have me and I intend to be the best big brother ever" Steve told me and engulfed me in a big hug. I hugged him back, letting a few tears fall down my face. We stayed like this for a few minutes before breaking out of the hug and leaving the car. We walked inside the mall and into Scoops Ahoy. When we got there Robin was leaning on the counter. Once she looked up and saw us, she stood up straight. "Thank god, Dingus and Peter, you two are finally here" She smiled at me and went to the back. Steve went to the cash and I joined Robin in the back.

After an hour of switching shifts and Robin and I tallying if Steve rules or sucks, Robin ended up at the cash. I heard a familiar voice talking to Robin then I remembered Dustin was coming today to tell Steve about what happened last night. Steve must have heard Dustin and Robin because all of a sudden he jumped up from the table and ran through the door with me following close behind him. "Henderson. Henderson! He's back. He's back! Steve yelled, jumping a little and running toward Dustin. "I'm back. You got the job!" Dustin yelled, happily. "I got the job!" Steve replied and made trumpet noises. Dustin and Steve did this weird handshake while Robin and I watched, chuckling a little. "How many children are you friends with?" Robin questioned once the two finished their handshake. Steve just sighed a little and I giggled softly. Dustin looked over at me "Peter, you work here too? Why didn't you tell me yesterday?" Dustin asked. "I don't know. It just didn't seem necessary yesterday" I told him.

"No way, hotter than Phoebe Cates?" Steve asked as the three of us sat in a booth in the corner of Scoops Ahoy eating ice cream after Dustin told him all about Suzie. Well, Dustin and I were, Steve has to stay in shape apparently. "Brilliant too. And she doesn't even care that my real pearls are still coming in. She says kissing is better without teeth" Dustin explained. "Wow... Yeah, that's great. Proud of you, man. That's kinda romantic. That's like.. wow" Steve replied, almost a little weirded out. "So, do you really just get to eat as much of this as you want?" Dustin changed the topic. "Yeah, I mean. Sure. It's not really a good idea for me, though, you know. I gotta keep in shape for the ladies" Steve explained. "Yeah, and how's that working out for you?" Robin spoke from the cash and Steve told Dustin "Ignore her." "She seems cool," Dustin said. "She's not," Steve told Dustin and looked like he was going to say something else but I butted in. "Shut up Steve, she is so cool," I said, hitting Steve softly. Steve rolled his eyes a little. "So, where are the other knuckleheads?" Steve asked both Dustin and I. "They ditched us yesterday" Dustin explained. "No," Steve said, surprised. "My first day back. Can you believe that shit?" Dustin replied annoyed and Steve answered with "Whoa, seriously?" "I swear to god. They're going to regret it though. Big time. When they don't get to share in Peter's and I's glory" Dustin told Steve. "Glory? What glory?" Steve asked. "So, last night, I was trying to get in contact with Suzie... and uh, " Dustin spoke then mumbled something that neither Steve nor I could pick up. "What?" Steve asked and Dustin mumbled again. "Just speak louder," Steve told him and he listened. "I intercepted a secret Russian communication" Dustin almost yelled and everyone in the whole shop looked at Dustin. "Jeez, shhh. Yeah, okay, that's what I thought you said. Wait, what does that mean?" Steve asked. "It means, Steve, we could be heroes. True American heroes" Dustin spoke, dramatically. Steve hummed happily and nodded and Dustin did the same. "American heroes," Steve said, happily. "Just think, all the ladies you want and more" Dustin explained to Steve and I looked at them, shaking my head in disappointment a little. "More? I like more" Steve said and nodded a little along with Dustin. "What's the catch?" Steve asked him. "No catch, we just need your help," Dustin told Steve. "With what?" He asked, confused. Dustin opened his backpack and pulled out an English to Russian dictionary. "Translation" Dustin simply said.

Steve, Dustin and I all sat in the back room, listening to the Russian. Steve walked back and forth, eating a banana as he walked. Dustin paused it and looked at Steve. "So what do you think?" Dustin asked him. "It sounded familiar" Steve replied then took another bite of his banana. "What?" Dustin asked confused. "The music. The music right there at the end" Steve told him and Dustin looked at him with a slightly annoyed look on his face.  "Why are you listening to the music, Steve? Listen to the Russian. We're translating Russian!" He told him. "I'm trying to listen to the Russian, but there's music-" Steve was interrupted by Robin walking into the room. "All right, babysitting time is over. You need to get in there. Not you, Peter you're fine" Robin looked at Steve then glanced at me. She walked over to her board to see it covered in letters. "Hey, my board! That was important data, shitbirds" She looked at us in anger. "I told them not to write your board. They didn't listen" I told her. "I guarantee you, what we're doing is way more important than your data" Dustin explained and Robin looked him in the eye and walked closer to him. "Yeah? And how do you know these Russians are up to no good anyways?" She asked him and he looked at Steve. "How does she know about the Russians?" He quietly asked Steve. "I don't know" He mumbled back in response with part of his banana in his mouth. Thet whispered at each other once more before Robin interrupted them. "Hello, I can hear you. Actually, I can hear everything. You guys are extremely loud. You think you have evil Russians plotting against our country on tape and you're trying to translate but you haven't figured out a single word 'cause you didn't realize the Russians use an entirely different alphabet then we do. Sound about right?" Robin told us and we all looked at each other. While it was silent, Robin reached to the table and tried to grab the recorder, but Steve grabbed it off the table before she could.  "Whoa, what do you think you're doing?" He asked her. "I wanna hear it." She told him. "Why?" Dustin and Steve asked in sync. "'Cause maybe I can help. I'm fluent in four languages, you know" She explained and Dustin asked her if she was fluent in Russian. "Ou-yay are-yay umb-day" She spoke and Steve and Dustin looked at her in astonishment and I just laughed at them a little. "That was Pig Latin, dingus. She said "you are dumb" and she was correct," I told both Steve and Dustin and both glared at me before returning their eyes to meet with Robins and Steve slapped Dustin with his banana peel. "But, I can speak Spanish and French and Italian, and I've been in band for 12 years. My ears are little geniuses, trust me" Robin sat down next to me. Steve seemed hesitant and Robin could notice. "Come on, it's your turn to sling ice cream, my turn to translate. I don't even want credit. I'm just bored" Robin leaned over the table towards Steve with an ice cream scoop in her hand. Steve thought for a moment before handing her the recorder, taking the ice cream scoop and going out of the back room.
