As I rushed into the hospital, I could see auntie sitting on one of the chairs in the waiting room. A nurse was talking to her. Shortly after she got up and followed the nurse. I had to run in order to catch up with them. They entered a ward and I followed.

'My God, junior!' I cried as soon as I stepped into the ward which made auntie and the nurse to turn around startled.

'Excuse me ma, what are you doing here?'

He's my.....

You need to leave now before I call the security.

No nurse, she's the mother of the boy. Auntie said looking away.

What? How wicked can a woman be to her own son!

Excuse me nurse what do you mean?

What do you mean by 'what do I mean madam? I'm suppose to be calling the police on you right now. This boy deserve to live. And you have no right to abandon him the way you did.

I didn't abandon my son! I cried. I could never have abandoned him! He's all I have!

Tell that to the deaf man! Maybe he would hear you. You should be grateful to this kind hearted madam who saved him.

I looked over at auntie and saw the mischievous smile on her face. I understood immediately that she had misinformed the hospital to her own favour. The nurse was so brain washed that I didn't see the need to explain further. So turning to auntie I knelt in front of her and thanked her as the kindhearted madam that saved my son from only God knows what.
' Thank you madam for saving my son. May God repay you for all your actions. However, I shall take it up from here as his mother. I remain grateful to you kind madam.'

I didn't intend to have anything to do with auntie ever again. I do not know where I shall be taking Junior next but I knew even an orphanage home was now safer than auntie family.

I watched as her smile turned to seriousness. She looked me in the eye and said you ungrateful child. I have taken care of this child at your request for over a year now and you have the guts to tell me off like this?

Madam! I thought you said few minutes ago that you picked the child up close to a refuse dump half alive!

It was the nurse who was so shocked.

Oh..yes...I mean...i...I watched auntie as she turned to an automatic stammering machine.

Please leave now before I call the police on you! The nurse ordered.

Whatever! To hell with you and your son Amanda! She said as she Marched out of the ward.

I'm so sorry madam, i didn't....

I held up my hand to hush the nurse.

I understand you were misinformed but please stop judging books by their covers. Some of these books has got deadly contents that can destroy you.

She just stood there looking away. She couldn't look me in the eye. I looked at Junior once again looking so helpless and almost lifeless with all the wires connecting to his chest on the bed. Yes, my son was being supported with a life saving machine.

I couldn't look at him for too long before my eyes became blur with tears flowing at their own free will.
