A year later Richard ran into his ex Ana and thought that Ana would make a good mother to little Raymond but how wrong he was.
Richard accepted to marry Ana after much talk from his father and I. Everything was happening too fast again to be true. Six months to their meeting Richard proposed and and Ana accepted.
The wedding preparation began immediately but a week to the wedding things started falling apart again. Richard and Ana started having series of quarrels of which Richard told me was a matter of unfaithfulness. I remembered how he came one afternoon looking so miserable and broken.
''Mum, Ana is cheating on me with her ex. ''
''How did you know that?''
''I saw them myself mum''
''Don't tell me you have been stalking your wife to be son?''
''Well she gave me the to room to mum,
See, mum, what I didn't understand was why she wanted to still marry me even when she doesn't love me anymore.
''And you, do you still love her?''
''Is not as though I have feelings for her as before but I didn't expect her to stoop so low as to agree to marry me because of my money and status with the hope of running away with her lover afterwards.''
''How do you mean?''
''Here, I saw this message notification on her phone and decided to open it and forward it to myself.

this so called wedding
to be over so that we
can be together again. Has he given you the money yet?

I tried all I could to calm Richard but he was too angry. He went out of the house with rage.

''Hey baby, you look so angry, what's it? Don't worry, your food will soon be ready.'' Ana said as she walked towards Richard to hug him.
''Don't you dare touch me with those filthy hands of yours!'' Richard moves away from her reach.
''Easy, my hands are not dirty baby. OK let me go and wash them again''
''Why did you agree to marry me Ana, when you knew you don't love me anymore. What did I do to you to deserve this?''
''I...I don't know what you're talking about baby....
''Don't you dare call me that!''
''I'm sorry Richard. I was confuse, I....
''You were confused?''
''Y..es''
''I don't think so because you're still very much confused and I won't let that confusion continue in my house or life. Ana, park your bags and leave my house this minute. This marriage can't hold.''
''Are you being Serious right now?''
''Get out of my house before i lose my mind completely Ana''
''I'll go! I'll leave! So now you want to play the victim,O prince? Fine, play the victim let me play the devil. What were you thinking? That after dumping me for your dead wife....
''Shut up Ana!
'' I'll not Richard, you can't make me feel as though I'm the bad one here. You left me for her....
''But I explained to you that this had to do with tradition and that many people's lives depended on it if I should violate it! You encouraged me not violate it. Afterwards you started avoiding me. It was as though you disappeared from the surface of the earth....
''Oh! You expected me to stay and die of heartbreak?''
''Oh so you came back for revenge after three and a half years? Ah! Ana.''
''I came back because I thought I could handle it. But your dying son is a constant reminder of your past without me!
''Ana, Raymond is not dying! He's only an asthmatic patient! Why am I even talking to you? Now you've over stayed your welcome. Leave.''
''Fine, I'll just grab my bag and go. I'll see you to the gate.
At the gate Richard instructed the security man never to let her into his compound again.
As he was walking back to the house his phone rang.
Few minutes later Richard went in only to find the whole house covered with smoke. The food Ana was cooking was burning. Immediately Richard ran to Raymond's room and met him struggling and gasping for air on the floor.
