I think,
we should now be in a photograph,
smiling, hugging, and complaining,
in our little verandah
amidst your fat pigeons
and my cute guinea pigs.

That photograph,
can be our
first and last,
for I don't know
and don't want to know
the countdown of your final breaths.

In the photograph
we'll be still, and
we'll be holding hands,
or I might be biting your cheek,
or you might be pecking my neck,
but we'll be together, won't be?

I'll sleep looking at it,
and would wake up to it too,
clearing off the dust,
and making it anew,
and cheerful once again,
as we right now are.

In the photograph,
I feel you'll be with me,
frozen in a time frame,
dear to me.
So get up, my love,
for one last time,
let's be in a photograph,
let us smile.
