'Old Town'
by Mister August

Climb a little higher
and some more,
And you'll see our town
like you've never seen before,
love.

You'll see the crumblin' houses
and those old and new bazaars
You'll see the Imaams, the pundits
and those little naked boys
parading royal Durbars!

Come, friend, sit closer
and throw rocks
down the fort
reminiscing those
gruesome battles fought
all around these walls.

I often sit here,
and I often wonder
Have I grown up so fast
or this treacherous town
has betrayed my childhood?

I see minarets, and palaces,
those beautiful mosques,
those grandiose temples,
but can never find my house.
You see, it's impossible,
to find those murky brothels,
the pigeonholes with caged doves,
from this great height, love.

Our town is old and dyin'
breathing across streets
and malodorous lanes,
and yet arriving every night
to our dilapidated abodes, love.

That's why my friend,
I come here as this fort,
is all I have,
and you are all I want!
Just don't allow this dream to end,
as I know
there's no fort in reality,
every escape is futility,
in this old town of ours,
but what's real here are
our little journeys
and destinies rising from
brothels and fading into
those graves, love!
That's why I say, don't!
Please, don't wake me up,
and let me stay here,
for a while!
You too,
climb a little higher,
and some more,
love.
