I cant update a lot rn coz I have 0 wifi at home and I'm not gonna waste my data on docs.
But I wanted to share with you guys a little bit of the prologue to an original book I've been working on. Be free to let me know what you think! It's not much but it's a bit of what I have written and I just wanted to know what y'all thought:
“And this is where you’ll be training to learn how to use your powers to the best of your abilities,” Atticus Brier spoke, pointing to a set of double doors that were closed tightly. “Well, at least, if you have any kind of powers that require physical movement. We’ll show you where you will be heavily taught if your powers are more on the mental side than the physical side in a bit.”
“And by we, he means me,” Violet Wieland spoke up. “Atticus would never be caught dead in the Mental Room, he’s too terrified about losing his Macho Guy persona if he was.”
“That’s not true,” Atticus argued. “I’ve gone there to meet with you, haven’t I?”
Violet rolled her eyes. “Maybe, but you still hate being in there.”
“I do not,” Atticus said, glaring. “It’s you who hates the Physical Room. Can’t hack your way through physical challenges, can you?”
There was a coughing noise from Atticus’s side, and the brunette turned to see both Anthony Lumikki and Zacharias Kadir giving both him and Violet pointed looks.
“Right,” Violet murmured.
“Sorry,” Atticus muttered to her. He turned to the crowd of incoming Freshmen they were supposed to be giving the grand tour to. “Anyways, we’d show you the inside of the Physical Room, but it can be a little dangerous in there if you don’t know what you’re ducking into, or if you’re dressed poorly.”
“Why don’t you raise your hands if the power you’ve manifested is more of a physical power rather than a mental power?” Anthony asked.
About half of the group raised their hands.
“Alright. Well, you guys can come with Atticus and I, as we are the two more physically inclined of the four of us. You guys will have slightly different extracurriculars than the rest of the group. Violet and Zach can take the other half and show them more about what their experiences will entail.”
The class of incoming freshmen split into the two groups, and Atticus and Anthony took their group with them.
“Alright,” Atticus told their group once they got down another hall. "So, a key part of having physical powers is staying fit. It will sap your strength to use your powers, but if you stay physically fit, you'll be able to maintain your powers a lot more than if you aren't. For example, when I was your age, I was able to maintain my powers for about fifteen to twenty minutes at a time. Now, two weeks before I graduate, I can maintain them for several hours at a time before becoming extremely exhausted."
Anthony nodded his head. "So, a lot of your extracurricular activities will include physical exercise. We offer a variety of gym classes, so at least one should intrigue you enough to sign up."
Atticus pointed towards a blonde boy who was raising his hand. "Yes?"
"What if we sign up for a gym class that we end up not liking?"
That caused Anthony to laugh. "What's your name?"
"John," the boy replied.
"Well. John. Let me tell you this: in my Freshmen year, I went through six different gym classes before I finally found one I liked," Anthony told him, smiling. "They are more than willing to work with you at the office."
