Chapter 5: Introductions

Sebastian POV

I lead Miss Faye out of the study and she practically skipped after me. I couldn't help but slightly smile.

"I'll take you to the kitchen. I'll introduce you to rest of the staff. Please follow me, Miss Faye." I said smiling with my eyes closed before turning and leading her to the kitchen.

"A-Aviva is just fine. I-I mean...since I am just another maid now." She said avoiding my gaze.

I noticed that around every 5 steps I took, she had to do this little run to keep up with me. I decided to slow my pace so she didn't have to keep running.

"Thank you." She said quietly, obviously a bit embarrassed.

Every so often on the way to the kitchen, I glanced at her. The whole time she walked she had this big smile across her face. She was genuinely excited to work here. Why? I would think someone, somewhere new and strange, working for someone they've never met would be somewhat nervous. But she's so...happy.

I opened the door to the kitchen to see al the servants standing around. They all jumped and stood up. They all gasped and ran to Miss Faye.

"Oh miss I'm so glad to see you awake!" Young Finnian said hugging her. It knocked all the air out of her and I could see her straining.

"Finnian." I said sternly.

"Sorry Sebastian!" He said letting go. "Oh! And sorry miss!" He said worried.

"It's quite alright." She said laughing lightly, she said grabbing her stomach. She was almost crushed! How is still so happy?!

"Anyway," I said getting their attention. "Everyone," I said motioning to Miss Faye. "This is Aviva Faye. She will be joining our staff as a new maid." I said looking at the three incompetent servants. Mey-rin cheered.

"It's so nice to meet you both." She said offering her hand. She still had the brightest smile on her face. I couldn't help but give a small smile. Her cheeriness was almost infectious.

"I'm Finnian, but please call me Finny! I'm the gardener!" He said enthusiastic and shaking her hand.

"I'm Baldroy, the chef. Just call me Bard." He said winking and shaking Miss Faye's hand. My eyes flashed pink. "Pleasure to have a new face around here. And a pretty one at that too." He said smiling. Miss Faye blushed. I glared at the chef and he let go of her hand.

"And that," I said motioning behind the three servants, "is Tanaka."

She leaned to the side to see the old man. "Hi!" She said with a huge smile on her face. She waved at him.

"Ho..ho..ho." That was, as usual, all that came out of him.

"Wait, what did you mean by see me awake?'" She asked, her smile faded. That's right, she only woke up after I brought her inside the manor.

"Well..we found you outside, Miss." Finny said. Miss Faye furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah you were unconscious just outside the garden." Baldroy continued.

"I am in charge of training Miss Faye. You three...stay out of trouble. Finnian go back to the garden. Mey-rin please go back to cleaning. Oh, and Baldroy?" I said.

"Yes Sebastian?" He asked, nervous.

"No flamethrowers!" I said sternly. Honestly what goes through his head thinking a flamethrower would be the best way to cook.

"Yes sir Sebastian." He said giving me a weak salute. I pulled out my pocket watch. There's still time before lunch. I put my watch away.

"Well I believe a proper tour of the manor is in order." I said looking down at Miss Faye.

"Hm?" She said looking up at me wide eyed. "Oh. Ok!" She said smiling, closing her eyes.
