"Crowley?" Aziraphale asked, not quite sure where he was going with this.
"Yeah, Angel?" The demon looked up from his book (Aziraphale has finally managed to get him to read one.)
Aziraphale looked thoughtful for a second before asking:
"Why do people think we're dating?" The question was completely innocent but the pair had to wait a while for Crowley.exe to reboot. He cleared his throat, trying to gain some composure.
"Well um," Crowley choked, "I- I didn't know people thought that?" By this time the demon was a bright shade of Scarlett as opposed to the angel who didn't seem phased by this conversation at all. Aziraphale nodded.
"Anathema keeps bringing it up." He said, "even Adam asked me about it."
Crowley wasn't sure what to say. To be completely honest, the thought hadn't really crossed his mind. But now that it had, he could see why people thought that.
"I'd just ignore it, Angel." Crowley said trying to keep his voice nonchalant, "I mean, if we were dating, it wouldn't be their business anyway. N-not that I'm saying I want to date you of course..." his voice cracked and Aziraphale raised an eyebrow at him. They locked eyes for a moment until Crowley said,
"I mean....unless you want-"
Aziraphale beamed and basically attacked Crowley with a suffocating hug.
"I thought you'd never ask, dear!" He chirped.
Struggling to breathe, Crowley managed to chuckle.
"Yeah. I'm surprised too."
