Some people believe in fate.

They believe that everything that has ever happened, happened for a reason. That some unexplainable force in the world allowed it to happen. There was a purpose for every little detail that happened in everyone's lives. A belief that everything has a fixed natural order they are unavoidable and inevitable. Fate happens every day and will forever because that's how it's supposed to happen. They believe that everything has a reason that must be fulfilled.

People can believe whatever they want.

However, Alex didn't believe crap about any of it. There was no destiny to anyone, no fate, and definitely no mysterious power that controlled the order of everyone. No, Alex believed in the facts, and the facts frayed far off from fate and wonder. The facts were, that whatever happened to her, was purely random and nothing to do with fate.

"One large coffee, two creams."

Jitters was infamous in Central City. Growing up there, it was quick to be learned that everyone went there, and that it was the best place to be. The atmosphere in the building was always lively, not to mention that the drinks were perfection each time. Some people went there every day, most having to take it and go while some enjoyed the stay and chatted with friends.

Alex smiled as she grabbed the coffee from the barista's hand, their fingertips brushing. The hot cup was replaced with a few bills to cover the cost and she was out of the place. However, just as she exited the shop, another man walked in and bumped into Alex. He steadied her coffee before it spilled all over her, and placed his other hand on her arm to make sure she didn't fall either.

"Oh, I am so sorry," He apologized. Alex smiled at him, a fake smile just as the one before. She learned a long time ago showing emotions were much more complex than hiding them. Because showing them meant showing yourself, and deep down inside, she didn't like what she became.

"Its fine," She told him, and exited the shop. It was quite sunny out and warm enough to go out without a jacket. A side from her bad attitude, Alex loved days like those, she loved the warm rays beating down on her skin and the glow it left. However, the warm day was nothing compared to the hot coffee that scorched her hand as she walked down the street.

Everyone that she passed was unfamiliar, the distinct facial features of everyone blurred together and each person looked the same. Alex was used to this, she was used to the feeling of blending in with the crowd; it was what she did for a living. Alex didn't have a job, she hadn't had one for a while.

No, she spent her days differently.

Nine months ago, something happened to her, something unexplainable. She didn't believe it was because of fate, there was no way that what happened to her was meant to happen. The force that had done it, was because of science, or more so someone who fucked up science. She didn't ask for it, didn't even wish upon it, but ever since she had it, there was something that made her believe in something other in fate.

A supernatural side of things so to say, although everything was purely a freak accident. But Alex wasn't normal anymore, she was a freak. Freak abilities that people would wish upon as a child, and everything that she could ever imagine. Everything that she was capable of doing was every kid's dream, it was her dream; and she didn't waste a moment of it.

Alex threw away the empty coffee cup and ducked into one of the back alleys. She smirked a little before allowing the force that happened to her take control. She was different, special in a way. It was a shock to her the first time it happened, but after she learned what happened, she loved every bit of it.

The boy she bumped into at the coffee shop suddenly replaced the blonde. Starting at her feet and up her body, she changed into a different person, literally. Every facial feature of Alex changed into something different, someone different. All the memories, the thoughts he had, feelings, ideas, everything that made him, him, was hers. She knew it all, his schedule, where he worked, who his family was, who he was. Alex knew everything there was to know about Barry Allen, because she was Barry Allen.
