The winter of that year proved to be unseasonably warm, and by the beginning of February, not much snow was left on the sides of he highways.

It rained too much in the spring, and the fruits in the few trees that remained, hung heavy at the ends of bent branches.

The sun in the summer months was unseasonably hot and stung my bare arms. I remember thinking that it felt like fall would never come.

Little did I know that it was just the beginning and the following years would be so much worse.

And it was all happening because of us.
