The rain came in waves, splattering across the pavement. The water streamed through my hair, down my neck, soaking my clothes. The chilly wind cut through me like a knife, but I couldn't care.

The bone-chilling cold seemed unbearable in the howling wind and icy rain. But I could not stop now. I pulled my soaked cap down to protect my eyes and moved forward. Where was she? Would I find her in time?

The sound of thunder rolled through the area as another lightning bolt split the sky. A dark shape against the bridge railing caught my eyes when the lightning flashed. My blood ran cold as I realize what was going on.

In a split of a second, I was in front of her. I grabbed her wrist, yanking her away from the bridge. She was so completely wet and numb that she didn't resist. Eyes almost drooping, she let me drag her back home without a fight.

Once again, I was there just in time to stop her from committing this irreparable deed.
