I stared up at the sky, admiring its features.

It was late afternoon and I spent the entire day with Lucas.

We were waiting for sundown do we could do a walk.

I felt footsteps come towards me and Lucas was sitting next to me.

We sat in comfortable silence, listening to the sound of outdoors.

It's amazing all that can change in one week. Last week at this time Riley and I were best friends and she didn't have a boyfriend, and I hated Lucas's guts.

What was going to happen after this? Would Lucas move on to another girl?

I felt something boil inside of me. Anger? Maybe. Jealously? Umm....

I snapped out of my thoughts and saw Lucas staring at me.

"I always wonder what you thinking about." He smiled.

I returned a smile and shrugged. "Nothing really."

We started heading back to my house, making small talk.

When we reached my house, Lucas peered into my backyard.

"Nice backyard."

"Thanks."

I noticed aunt Becky was home, so I opened the gate to the backyard and sat on the hammock.

Lucas followed and sat next to me. He carefully wrapped his arms around me and I let my head fall onto his shoulder. I sighed.

Suddenly, the back door opened and I leaped up. There stood... Ava.

"MOM HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU ALL DAY." She yelled.

"Ava!! I'm standing right in front of you, don't yell." I said, relieved.

"Sorry I like yelling."

I found Ava eying Lucas, then she started yelling again. "MAYA HAS A BOYFRIEND!! OH MY--"

I rushed my hand over to cover her mouth and nervously laughed.

"Will you excuse us for a second?" I said.

Without waiting for a answer, I dragged Ava into the living room.

"Maya has a boyfriend Maya has a boyfriend." Ava sang.

"Shut up he can hear you!!" I said in embarrassment.

Ava smiled with pleasure. "I won't tell mom."

I sighed with relief. "Thank you."

"But." She started to say.

I groaned. There's always a catch.

"You have to do my chores for two weeks."

"Fine."

Ava flashed me a annoying smile and skipped away.

I rolled my eyes as I walked back outside.

I looked over at the hammock to see Lucas gone.

Where did he go?

I searched around the backyard when I felt sudden hands on my sides.

"Grrrrrr!!" A voice said.

I jumped and whirled around. "Ahhhh! What the hell?!" I exclaimed

Lucas stood behind me laughing his head off.

"You should of seen your face!" He exclaimed, laughing.

I scoffed. "I'll get you back friar."

I suddenly ran after him in the backyard, like little kids.

I caught up to him and jumped on his back.

He was caught off guard and grabbed my legs so I wouldn't fall.

Suddenly, the sprinklers went off.

Lucas and I began to get soaking wet, but it was amazing.

I got off his back and faced Lucas.

He started leaning in and I pressed our lips together.
