~What Do I Do If I Choose To Fall?~

Camila's P.O.V.

I woke up feeling soft touches on my cheek and someone playing and stroking my hair, it somehow was lulling me back to sleep but at the same time was also a signal for me to wake up and star the day anew.

Soft tingles and warm shivers crawled down my spine as I finally opened my eyes to meet those warm brown pair of brown eyes which were staring back at me. Shawn was lying beside me with him on his side, he propped himself on his elbow as he rests his head on the headboard while his hands were doing wondrous things to my face.

The warm and blinding sunlight suddenly cascaded on the whole room, giving the look of the seemingly candlelit effect that I had taught Shawn. Still, there were no blinds I his room which wasn't a surprise, I don't think he fancies blinds and I think he loves to wake up in the morning with the sunrays greeting him first thing. Usually those were what CEO's love and he might be one of them as well.

As he continued combing and tugging my hair softly, I couldn't help but look at him curiously as I noticed that there is something wrong. Shawn's eyes were staring at me, they were looking right back at me but he doesn't seem to acknowledge my presence at all. He seemed so distant, he was looking st me but he was so much deep in thought that he can't seem to acknowledge me at all.

"What time did you go to bed last night? I tried waiting for you but I was so sleepy, sorry that I almost took all the spaces in the bed" I spoke, trying to let him know that I was awake since he doesn't look aware about that fact.

I watched him as his eyes slowly turned more sharp and focused on me, his hand that was busy caressing me suddenly stopped as he looked taken aback for a few minutes. He then started acting calmly, continuing the way he plays with my hair as I enjoyed feeling like a kid when I'm with him.

As much as I love what he's doing to me at this moment, he was lulling me back to sleep and I can't have him do that because deep down I know that something is bothering him so much. His actions says it all, he doesn't even react to me nor replied to my question so I knew that something was definitely up.

He wasn't good in acting as if everything is normal. I was able to detect that something might be bothering him as I could hear him sighing softly while looking at me since earlier. There were no possible thoughts that came to my mind in why he's acting a bit weirdly right now but I guess it might've something to do with what had happened last night at the party.

"Is there something wrong Shawn? Your eyes look so distant, did I do something wrong?"

Now it was my turn to put my hand on his cheek, rubbing it slowly in hopes that it could encourage him to talk to me and tell me what was wrong. I have tried to read his eyes and his mind but there was such a tall barrier that I couldn't seem to cross to or break it into, I knew that I had to ask him directly because I can't seem to understand this weird serious yet a bit different aura surrounding him.

Unlike in the past, he was oozing with self confidence and seriousness, it was that kind of aura that can make you feel so intimidated and just want to lower your head in shame. Right now he had completely changed, he's not in his right state and mind and I'm getting worried about what he's thinking so hard about.

"Why would you do something wrong? I was just thinking of how deeply beautiful you are so much right now. You look like a peaceful angel when sleeping but transforms into a goddess when you're awake"

His sly remarks made my heart beat fast even if it does sound so cliché an a bit childish, I never really was a fan of sweet words because others were just too cheesy that I couldn't help but to feel disgusted and annoyed.

He continued caressing my face, a small smile was playing on the edge of his lips as he seemed to finally regain probably more than 3/4 of his brain back. I was thankful that he's back here because I just had to prepare myself for whatever topic he might be thinking about since he looked so serious AF this point.
