In The Maze

Newt falls asleep next to me that night. He looks so yong, he isn't upset about something he isn't mad or anything.

I slowly drift off that night thinking of newt and not the upcoming events.

The next morning Newt meets me out by the doors.

"Be careful." He says.

"Always am." I say and turn into the maze.

That night I take Ashley back to the deadheads.

"So what's the plan?" She asks.

"I'll go in the maze like normal, the door only opens at night when the walls are shifting so when I come back, you will be in the bushes by the door, I'll make sure no one is looking then we both go in." I explain.

"Ok sound good." She agrees.

"Great." I say.

She walks away. I breath out, we are really doing this.

One more day until me and Ashley have to go.

I don't go in the maze today because Minho is training a new runner so he is running that route. I spend my day in the deadheads away from people until I hear someone scream.

I run out of the woods only to see chuck being chased down by a filthy and soaking wet Gally.

I laugh a little when I relize what happened.

Chuck runs straight towards me.

"Gally." I warn him when he gets closer.

"Slinthead." He spits at me.

"What?" I ask him.

"Gally!" Someone yells from above.

Alby walks over the slight hill. Gally's face freezes and he walks back up the hill.

"Your okay." I say to Chuck. "Your okay." Trying to calm him down.

"I'm okay." He repeats gasping for breath.

He walks away and Newt comes over by me.

"So what happened?" He asks me.

"I have no idea." I laugh and walk back towards the deadheads.

Me and Newt fall asleep that night in the deadheads.

I wake up in the morning and freeze with fear. Today is the day.

I get up and get ready to go out in the maze.

"Ready?" Minho asks me.

"Yep." I say. The walls open and Bewt walks up to me.

"Don't do anything stupid." It is like a dagger through the heart.

"What happened to be careful?" I ask.

"Fine," he sighs, "Be careful."

"Always am." I say and turn and run into the maze.

I run my route and finish early, I stay in the maze until it is five minutes till the door closes.

I walk around the corner and fake a bad limp. Everyone including Ashley is there. Watching me.

She won't be able to slip in without being seen now.

I limp towards the doors as they start to close.

They start to call, saying I can make it, I can do it. I don't want to do it.
