I woke up on the couch with a blanket over me, my mom probably did that last night. I don't even remember falling asleep. We were watching movies one minute then the next minute I was out. I could feel my phone vibrating somewhere on the couch. I don't know what it was but I snapped out of my daze and I started to look for it between the cushions, it's probably almost dead.

"Hello?" I answer my phone

"Pryce where are you? Eli and I are standing outside your building!"

"It's brick out here!" Eli's loud ass yelled

"Yeah, yeah my bad." I rushed and buzzed them in, they know where the spare key is

Time was passing by quickly, it felt like I just started my senior year a month ago. I couldn't believe it was already early February.

I ran to my room and took out clothes for me to wear. Then I went to the bathroom and started the shower and put toothpaste on my toothbrush.

"Pryce are you serious, what the hell where you doing?" Tyla asks from the living room

"I was sleep, I forgot we had school." I shout from my bathroom

"We can see that."

I quickly dried my self off and threw on my jeans, shoes, a shirt and my favorite sweater. I rushed into my room and grabbed my jacket and bag.

"What time is it?"

"8:32."

I start rushing them out the door "Hurry up or we're gonna be super late. The next bus comes in like 4 minutes!" I locked my door behind me

As we ran down the steps I bumped into that guy from yesterday. He caught me by my shoulder and patted my back.

"Be careful." He smiled

I ignored it and continued to rush to the bus stop. When we finally got there and stopped huffing trying to catch our breath Tyla spoke.

"Who was that guy?"

"He's just some weird dude who thinks I'm cute or something." I shrugged

Eli was strangely silent.

"You good?" I ask Eli as we got on the bus

"Yeah." he nodded

The bus ride only took fifteen minutes so we weren't too late. On our way inside there was an argument taking place in the parking lot. I didn't pay it any mind because it wasn't something new. Tyla was walking behind us on her phone as Eli and I talked about the best frozen pizza.

"It's definitely Digiorno's" I argued

"Ellios is way better, Digiorno's ain't shit."

"Yo Tyla!" We turned around so she could chose a side, but she wasn't there.

"Tyla?"

We saw her by somebody's car, it looked kind of familiar. We ended up walking up to the car to see her talking to a girl.

"Man we were having a whole debate about pizza. We called you to cut the tie." Eli frowned

"Sorry I was just talking to Alleah. I met her at the grocery store the other day." she smiled

"Hi, I'm Pryce." I offered her a smile

"I'm Eli."

I heard someone suck their teeth. It was from inside the car.

"So you could be nice to her but you give me attitude all day?" Clarence raises his eyebrow

This instantly made my mood sour.

"Cause she's not annoying."

"You always embarrassing me, go home." Alleah shooed him away

I just noticed her accent. I wonder where she's from.

"If that's how it is." He rolls up the window and pulls out the parking lot.

"So you moved from Atlanta to here? Why?"

"I ain't like Atlanta that much, plus I missed Clarence a lil bit."

Tyla smiled at her. I'm guessing she has a crush on Alleah. The way she's been looking at her gives it away.

"You and Clarence together or something?" she directs the question towards me

"Uh- nah." I shook my head "I'm not gay."

"Oh." she nodded her head awkwardly

It was like she didn't believe me. She wasn't buying it.

"Well I hope y'all aren't homophobic cause I'm gay." she laughed and took a bite of her pizza

Tyla started chocking on her drink. Alleah ended up patting her back.

Tyla said with a red ass face "Sorry, you took me by surprise."

Eli and I knew exactly why too.

"Why I don't seem gay to you? A lot a people told me that before, I don't really know what that means though."

"No, no I-I just didn't expect you to say that." Tyla was a stuttering mess

Poor Tyla.
