The next day was luckily the last day of term and it seemed the entire school was suffering from the previous late night.

"MORNING." I yelled at Sirius who was hunched over his bowl of cereal at breakfast. James and Remus burst out laughing as Sirius yelled sending the bowl flying into Peter's face.

"Sorry." He muttered lazily waving his wand to clear Peter's milk covered robes. "how are you feeling?" He asked. Even with his sloppy black hair which fell over sunken eyes he still managed to look radiant.

"Better than you by the looks of things." I grinned as he attempted a tired smile. I pushed forward a small vile.

"Sobering solution. Lily knicked it from Slughorn's." I said.

"I love you." He said, skulling it in a single gulp.

"Don't let Annie hear that." I joked. Sirius blanched, sending a look behind him at the relatively empty Great Hall.

The rest of the morning was spent cooped up in a compartment on the train home... the last place any slightly hungover person would want to be.

"What are you boys doing for the holidays?" Charlie asked as we huddled in our seats like sardines. With the new addition of the boys in the compartment, who were spending more time around us, it was starting to get a little cramped.

"Sirius is staying at mine." James grinned. The two were inseperable, so this wasn't a shock however by the look on Sirius's face, I suspected his family was an underlying precipitant.

"Merlin. I wish your parents luck." I joked. James and Sirius exchanged identical wicked smiles.

I had to almost physically drag Allegra away from her friends as we stepped onto the platform. I bid farewell to the girls as they hurried off to the platform and found myself leaning against platform 9 with Allegra playing with her cat.

"That's my parents there." James pointed at the elderly couple wandering slowly through the crowd. "See you soon." I hugged both of them awkwardly aware that Allegra was watching my every move.

"They're cute." Allegra said as we watched the boys walk away out of earshot. "My friends always talk about them." She said

"Yea?" I said pretending not to be interested. I was carrying both our bags, hobbling along towards the exit of king's cross.

She nodded. "They say Sirius is loaded and his parents are muggle haters."

"Both true."

"They say he's a bad person." She said

"He's not a bad person." I said before I could stop myself. "Just because his parents aren't the nicest doesn't mean he's not different."

Allegra stood up beside me, suddenly interested. She was almost as tall as me (which wasn't difficult) "Is he nice all around?"

"I wouldn't know." I said knowing exactly what she was hinting at.

"Sure you wouldn't." She said grinning at me. I shoved her lightly just as the two large men wearing all black approached us. Michelle Mathieu-Saint-Laurent appeared from behind them. She was a tiny french woman with a wiry frame and long thin hair which she died blonde propped neatly into a bun. Barely saying a word, she quickly hurried us in her six inch stiletto heels through the station and into the large black hummer which was waiting for us.

The kitchen was tense as we waited for my father. Yves had also gotten over his latest breakdown over women's suit pants and was sitting on the opposite side of the marble kitchen bench. Nobody said a word.
