I was surprised my mother let me stay with the Potter's that holiday, maybe it was because she felt guilty that Allegra got to stay with her friends every other holiday. With Yves flying to Milan that afternoon, my mother taking Allegra to Paris, my father working overtime and our London house lonely, I arrived on the Potter's doorstep on the evening of Christmas day. There was already a flurry of excitement before i even stepped through the doors as the boys had begun to set-up for their annual new years party.

As is tradition, James was set to host. Although I had never attended (a direct consequence of both an overprotective mother and a stubborn Lily Evans), I had heard tales of questionable events which had happened those nights. They really were the masters and the turn out this year was expected to be legendary. I climbed the steps to the potter's mansion timidly. I forgot to quadruple check that I was even still invited to dinner (maybe things had changed since I had owled James two days ago).

My nerves were quickly banished by the exclamation of "Milla!" James forcefully swung the pristine black double doors open before I even had time to ring the doorbell.

"Hi James." I choked as he hugged me until my ribs cracked. His glasses were sat crookedly above his cheeky grin as he picked up the large garbage bag he had dropped upon my arrival.

"Where's Lily?" His face dropped suddenly aware that I was alone.

"Change of plan, she can't make it." I said marvelling at his gaping reaction. "kidding, she's coming with Mary on the 29th." I punched him lightly, entering the Potter's grand hallway.

"JAMES WHERE ARE THE DRI- oh hi Camilla." Remus called exasperated. He entered carrying large peacock ornaments, closely followed by Peter who was hidden by some dragons. "Don't ask." Remus shook his head visibly exhausted from keeping the boys on task.

"Hello Remus, need any help?" I said taking the life-size peacock from his grasp and embracing him quickly. "Hi Peter." I called to whatever was moving the dragon.

"Hi Camilla." A strained voice came from within and a small peter Pettigrew popped out to give me a kiss on the cheek before flushing slightly and disappearing back behind the green ornament.

"Careful Peter, this one's trouble." A low raspy voice came from the doorway to the lounge. Peter stepped aside revealing none other than Sirius, who stood wearing nothing but a long black gaping robe. His bare chest shone from underneath. "C'mere." He wrapped his arms around me, the smell of a musky cologne mixed with cigarette ash engulfed me. This self control thing was going to be a huge test.

"How was your holiday?" He asked leading me down to the cellar. The Potter's cellar was next level. It was a dimly lit winery with every wizarding wine dating back to the 14th century. Unfortunately (but understandably), they didn't want us to waste good wine so James had his own spot in the cellar reserved for butterbeer and firewhiskey as well as a couple of bottles of cheap elderflower wine.

"Boring. I've just been working." I said holding my arms out as he loaded them up with wine. "have you been with the potter's this whole holidays."

Sirius nodded. "I'm looking at a house in East London though. I need your opinion on it."

I nudged him lightly. "East london? Fancy hey?" He rolled his eyes "Of course I'll come."

"Excellent, it's kind of small. More of an apartment but it's above this beautiful Italian restaurant..." Sirius launched into a description of the house. I was surprised, I had never seen Sirius put so much thought into a purchase, on the rare occasions I had gone shopping with him he would buy gifts and clothes without a second glance... maybe this house meant a lot to him.
