A day to new year, every place__ mostly event centres were all preparing for the count down funfair and so on.
Ruqayyah was out on her normal strolling during the evenings; mostly her leisure. She had been avoiding Baraka ever since she brought up that conversation the other day, she either engage herself in an unending chore or begin to surmise different things till sleep overtakes her.
"Assalamu Alaikum." A young lady in her early twenties waved at Ruqayyah, extending her right hand for a shake.
"Wa'alaikumus Salamu." Ruqayyah replied smiling, and they exchanged handshakes.
"I'm Zaliha, and you?"
Ruqayyah smiled as the picture of someone with that name visioned on her head; that someone is__ her mother.
"Ruqayyah." She replied smiling genuinely at her.
"I work here and often see you around. You always sit here alone, at times you order either a bottle of water or you just leave. I thought of saying hi when I saw you today."
Ruqayyah just smiled and looked away for a while then turned and faced the person sitting before her. They both giggled and silence followed.
"Today, the place looks more crowdy than other times."
"You know it's new year tomorrow, so a countdown was organised."
Ruqayyah nodded her head, not that she understands Zaliha's points but to avoid anymore talks from her.
🎶My papa no be dangote, or adeleke...
But we go dey okay...🎶Zaliha nodded her head as she murmured the song coming from the speakers.
A very loud piercing honk made Ruqayyah quickly used her palms and blocked her ears, though that gesture didn't lessen the noise to her.
Zaliha shook her head and laughed lightly "that's the usual way of him announcing his arrival. I'm sure by now, Stephanie has already starts blushing and being boastful."
"What is that suppose to mean?" Ruqayyah asked not catching the story.
"You see, that person dates or is it flirts with her or so, he spends a lot of money on her and also squander it extravagantly whenever he comes. You see..." Zaliha pointed at the Stephanie who walked elegantly towards the car in pride.
She was dressed in a waitress uniform earlier but, upon his arrival, she quickly changed into an ankle length straight gown, which hugged her body perfectly and exposed all her cleavages.
"They are coming towards this direction, maybe that's the table they will be sitting on."
Ruqayyah turned to have a glimpse at the famous squanderer_ a name she had given the person upon the descriptions from Zaliha.
Old habits die hard...
She shook her head as she noticed whom the person was, a sudden wave of jealousy took possession of her, how dare he? He still hasn't divorce her and yet he's here flirting with another lady. A waitress, she scoffed. Its never happening.
Go and create a chaos, make him divorce you... It will be better.
No don't, you might end up getting yourself embarrassed than freed.
