"you don't think the fans would be, I don't know, angry if they found out you were dating someone?" I whisper turning to face Alex in the way back from training
"what! No, why would you think that" Alex whispers back looking at me confused.
"I mean the fans seemed pissed enough that I'd taken Allies spot on the bus" I say looking at all the comments I've gotten
"That's just because it's been that way for a long time but Allie and I still walk off together, just like always," Alex says taking my hand discretely
"You have a huge fanbase Lex, like almost 9 million followers, I barely have 600K and that's just because of my fitness, not my soccer, what would they think of the Alex Morgan dating a nobody," I say suddenly feeling insecure about our relationship.
"I don't care what anyone else thinks about us, I like you a lot and I would hope you like me back," Alex says
"of course I do," I say back quickly
"which is my point exactly, we are happy together, our friends are happy we're together so who cares what the public think, let them be jealous of us and what we have because there's no way I'm ever leaving you for people I've never met" Alex whispers so no one else on the bus can hear us.
"Thanks Lex, I get a bit insecure sometimes you know with everything that happened in the past," I say feeling embarrassed I have to feel this way
"well I'll be here to tell you every day how lucky I am to call you my girlfriend," She says giving me a hug and lightly kissing me on the back of the ear.
